Cadet Leader cum Training Camp 2011

For the Cadet Leader cum Training Camp was both fun and tiring. The fun part was the games we played. One of the game is the ' invisible mirror ' game. For this game, we had to hold our friends hands and go over the rope. Through this game, i learn to have teamwork and perseverance because we had to cross over the rope without giving up. And we also went for a nightwalk around the school. The nightwalk, we had to overcome our fear of darkness. The nightwalk was both fun and tiring because we need to find clues in the darkness and had to go through a maze. Through this nightwalk, i leaned that i had to trust my squadmates no matter what happens. The best part of the camp is the campfire! We all gone hyper and had lots of fun singing. We also had drills and muster parade during the camp as it was also part of ' training camp ' . The last game we played as a unit during the camp was ' water bomb ' ! We had to use the poncho and catch the water bomb. And also we had to answer questions about npcc, if we get it wrong we would get wet. It was indeed an enjoyable camp !

Neo Hak Meng 1A1-1

On the first day of the camp, was quite fun. We learnt different kind of knots and also played some team bonding games. On the second day. we learnt some of the campfire cheers and songs. After that we had our promotion test. After the test, we continue to play games. Through these games, we all learnt that we must have teamwork, team spirit and perseverance. The last day of our camp, our cadet leader to-be, the sec2s, took over the muster parade and i think that they did a good job. After the parade, we had water activities. One of the games is answering questions of the knowledge of npcc. And the other game was passing bags of water bombs to the other team. Our group need to have teamwork in order to catch the bags of water bomb. At last, we had our area cleaning. And i really enjoyed this camp and learn alot of new things too!

On Friday, 4 nov 2011, we had NPCC training. On this training, we were supposed to report at 1.40pm in our full uniform. We were asked to wear our NPCC uniform because we will be having muster parade in the parade square. But unfortunately, due to the weather, we had to change the venue to the indoor sports hall. The parade was to give out some badges and certificates to the cadets from sec1s to sec3s. Our teacher officer, Mr Vijey, gave out the badges respectively from the sec1s to sec3s. Linah Wong and Cassidy Lim from sec1 represented the sec1 squad to collect the police knowledge and total defence(bronze) badges. Then followed by the sec2s and sec3s to collect their badges and certificates. After the parade, we were given break time to give out the badges to everyone and to hydrate ourselves. WeiEn sir and LiXuan ma'am came and taught the sec1s to fall out and fall in. After teaching and demostrating to us how to do it, each of the sec1s were given a chance to fall out and fall in. We were asked to change to our pt kit after that for our campcraft activites. We were split into two groups. We learned how to tie knots. But the campcraft session only lasted for 30 minutes as we also had sing-a-long session. The session was etremely fun. We sang alot of songs like 'purple light'. It was an enjoyable training that day!

SGS NPCC @LITTLE INDIA

Little India is a second home to many of us Indians residing here in Singapore. It is after all the closest thing to our motherland, India. Personally, Little India is one of the very few places in Singapore that I thought I knew very well. I have been going to Little India since I was very young, whether on the pretext of buying our marketing, to eating good Indian food to buying intricate jewellery and saris. However, much to my surprise, there were more to Little India than I originally thought of.Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience of the trials, I was very amazed with the abundant knowledge I had learnt and was thrilled to know that Little India was more than just shopping paradise for us Indians, but instead it is a small part of Singapore with great historical background and monuments still around.

A trip to little india was amazing as it was my first time going there. The variety of food look weird and smell weird but feedback from my seniors says it taste great .First, we went to the a stall that sell pastries and sugar snacks. After purchasing snacks we move on toward the famous traditional henna shop . After that we headed across the road, i was surprised to see a chinese stall at little india because i thought little india had only indian stalls . We also walked to the hawker centre to get some drinks and my senior,jian rong sir, bought a large plate of food and gobble it down . We also went upstairs of the hawker centre and there sell many indian traditional costumes and also a wet market which sell a variety of grocery and meat. Soon, it was time for us to meet back at the meeting point ,athough the trip was tried but learn some new culture and experience .

Visitors From Beijing !

On the July, 15th , Beijing twinning programme students went to our school for a visit and also to have a quick look at our co-curricular activities in our school the Uniform Groups . I felt very excited and anxious . My friends and I accompanied them and also to assist them when they needed helped . I had also watch the performance by them and it was spectacular ! We get to gain relationships with them too . They are friendly and nice people .

We also took pictures with them as memories to be remembered . We get along well with them too ! It was a great experience for me . I would like to share these great experience of mine with my families and friends . It was awesome !

Last Friday , Mrs Chea appointed Kalaivani , my squadmate and I to welcome the Beijing visitors . Kalaivani and I was extremely excited . We are waiting anxiously for their arrival . We also discussed how to welcome the Beijing visitors . We finally decided to use Mr Peh's balloons to welcome them . When the Beijing visitors had arrived , i find that they were very friendly . We also shared with them our culture and history and they also told us alot about their culture . We also shared with them our experiences in Beijing , China and they too , shared with us how they felt about Singapore . They find that Singapore is a very clean and green country with many places of attractions . We had a very joyful conversation , but soon , they had to go to other events .

Last Friday , students from Beijing came to visit us at our school . As I am involved in both the stomp team and drills squad , I had to rushed changing to my full-uniform . After performing in the stomp team , my two squadmates , Agnes and Kavi and I quickly rushed and changed into our full-uniform getting ready to performed for the student from Beijing . We had quite some time before they arrived so our CIs train us on our drills first .

After a few rounds of training , the first group of student from Beijing came . They are dressed in the Chinese traditional costumes and they really looked very pretty . Our teacher officer , Mr Peh , quickly settle them down and we were in position ready to march in . I think that we performed well because we were familiar with the commands that the commanders is shouting . After the loud applause given by them , we were given the command open dressing and Mr Peh told them that they could go down and take pictures with us . We all felt like superstars at that moment as they all gathered around us to take pictures .

After all the photo taking , they proceed on to their next activity where they learn how to tie things by using twine . Then we had a break time , after the break , there will be a second group of Beijing students coming . Soon , the second group of students came and we were getting ready to march in . For the second time we were performing , there was a little mistake make , but we all did our best . Same thing , we open dressing and they came and took pictures with us . I saw some familiar faces too as we had also visited their school . I am really glad to see them here in singpore and performing for them ! Hope they would enjoy the activity planned by our school .

SEC4s Pass Out Parade.

Last training is our sec4s POP(Pass Out Parade). On that day, we, the sec1s cadets have learnt how to march in an orderly manner. After marching, we fall-in properly and not to fidget. We are asked to stand properly and if we were not feeling well, we would just squad down and informed the mdms or sirs. The CIs are vert caring, as they will come and asked us whether were we feeling well. After standing for quite a while, we marched back to the shelter and watched the sec4s march pass. They march very neatly. Soon, they shouted 1,2,3 ! And they threw their beret, that was their happiest moment. They hugged each other and some even cried. As NPCC to them is like their second home. Filled with laughter and sadness, making true and loyal friends. They had many wonderful memories in NPCC. We the sec1s will missed them even they had graduated.

On the 15th April 2011, its the last training for the sec4s. They have their POP (Pass Out Parade) on that day. It is quite sad as it is their very last training. We would not be able to see them in any training anymore. On that POP, we went to the shelter beside the parade square to fall-in to get ready for the POP. We all marched in so as the sec4s. We did all the commands that the sirs and mdms gave. We took the NPCC pledge after that. The CIs checked every sec4s cadet attire and they had to do push up. After that, the sirs and mdms gave out the certificates to the sec4s cadet who had contributed so much into the unit. The sec1, 2, and 3s cadets marched out of the parade square and watched the sec4s marched. They threw their beret towards the sky. We fall-in at the shelter beside the parade square for dismissal, while the sec4s were taking photographs.

NPCC ANNUAL PARADE

During the NPAP one month training, some of my squadmates and i went to HTA (Home Team Academy ) for NPAP training. I was so excited for the training as i am going to learn new drills and i was choosen to be in the flag party contigent. I am in the GUFP contigent, also known as the Gold Unit Flag Party. It was so awesome being in the GUFP contigent as i mada many many new friends. The time travelling with my squadmats to HTA was more awesome and the seven of us seems to be so close after this training. My squadmates who went to the training are kirby, pauline, carson, agnes, weisheng and nisha. It has been a bonding session for us ! NPAP was a memorable experience. I hope i can get to go there again. We even get to bond with area 6 people as we travel there with them to HTA. Hopefully we will all keep in contact with each other. This is one good and memorable experience that i will neber forget. When i step out into the parade square holding the school flag, i was so proud that my school, Serangoon Garden Sec, had won 5 consecutive years gold award. We were also awarded with a silver drill cane. It was so beautiful. I am so proud of SGS NPCC ! Thanks to our seniors for contributing so much to NPCC to maintain the 5 years gold. The actual parade went well. After the parade, all of us was busy taking photo with each other to keep it as memories. This will forever be etched in my heart ! All our effort paid off after the tough trainings ! I AM GOING TO MISS NPAP ALOT !!!

During the NPAP one month training, some of my squadmates and I were chosen to participate in NPAP. I still remember, the first day of training, i felt very excited as it was my first time participating in a parade. I was the only boy representing my school in the GOH (Guard of Honour) boys contigent. I didnt know anyone from the contigent. But after some trainings, i manage to make some friends with boys from other schools. We practised our drills with the contigent commander. Soon after some trainings, we included rifles in our drills. At first, i had some difficulty in carrying the rifle but under the teaching from my contigent commander, i manage to do the rifle drills. Soon, the actual parade came. I felt nervous but excited at the same time. When my contigent marched in, i heard applauses from the crowd. At that moment, i knew that the tough trainings were all worth it. After the parade, my contigent parted. Finally, all ended well.

Participating in the parade was fun. exciting and tiring. When my first visit to Home Team Academy, i was afraid. Afraid that the mdms and sirs would scold me, if i do the wrong drills or accidentally drop the rifle. On the first day, it started to rain so we did not do much. On the second day onwards, we had tough trainings. Even though i'm in the reserve, i still had fun. Thinking in a positive way, i did not really need to remember all the drills. I made some friends from TangLin Secondary School, they were very friendly. I still can remember them. We still contact each other even though we are far, but our friendship is really near. I'm so proud to be in the Guard Of Honour contigent and proud that my Vice Principal, Mr Aziz, representing our school getting a plauge and a silver drills cane for having 5 years Gold. My squadmates and i will try all our best to get Gold for the next year.

On the 14 January was the first try out for the Sec ones . We got to know moew about our Cadet Inspector . Our CIs are very friendly and approachable . On the first training we learnt what is fall in and how fall in is to be done . We learnt to stand the proper way and the cheers before we seat . We played a few games to know more about each other and last but not least we sang songs :D This week training which is on the 21th of January , we learnt to do drills . Our seniors taught us how to tie knots , after all of tying knots , we gather at the ISH . As our seniors plan to play game , which is the Police and Thieves game . After playing the games we fall in as our teacher giving announcement . Then we were all being release and back to home sweet home . I had a great day , im also confirm to take NP as my CCA .

On Saturday ,8th of January, NPCC and other CCA’s had their open house for the secondary 1 orientation, this year is the second time I am involve in the sec 1 orientation, but this year I had a different role, I am in the drill group, with some of my senior and junior in it . I feel happy although it is a tiring day but we still did our best in our marching and was quite contented with the result we got. Next year is the last year I am going to take part in the sec 1 orientation so I am going to cherish it next year.

On the 8 january, saturday, we had our secondary 1 cca orientation. This is the first year i am taking part in this orientation. Last year i was looking at how my seniors did the drills, and this year it was me inside the drill group doing drills for the sec1s. At first i felt very excited, but after a few classes it was quite tired. But it soon ended, and we all felt very happy. After the cca orientation, i was choosen to go for the special parade. I was very amazed by how they march out, it was very well done. And we also saw weijing mdm at the parade. After the parade, dinner was provided. We had our dinner and waited at the grand stand for the bus to bring us back to school. I enjoy both the orientation and the special parade alot !

On 8 Jan 2011, I was choosen to go for the special parade which was right after the cca open house, at first I was feeling tired due to the open house and do not really had any mood for the special parade but after i went for it, it proof me wrong the parade was awesome with npcc and ncdcc combine together, I even saw wei jing mdm inside the goh contigent. After the march past we went for dinner buffet which was provide. The dinner was not really that good as the parade is, it taste like coffee shop standard food rather than buffet. After dinner we went back to the grand stand and waited for the bus for almost 30mins and above but I already knew that we are going to wait for so long because last time when i was in npap it also took almost the same time.

It was on 3rd September 2010 that my group members and I received the 1st runner up trophy in recognition of our hard work over the past few months. We had all put in our best efforts for this project. Throughout this period of time, we were able to bond together more closely as we had gone through thick and thin together as a group. On top of that, not only did I learn about the various information related to our project, I have also leant about how important our care and support for each of the group members is. Although we did not win the 1st prize, but we certainly did won the most valuable things which are, care and support within people that we trust, and also valuable life experience.

On 22nd of October, we had the UG BBQ , Games day. We all fall in outside NP room at about 2.40 – 2.45 pm. We were given instructions and briefing. Then all of us sat in twos in Indoor Sports Hall, chatting and laughing while some of them are preparing for the campfire. The seniors like Li Shan lead us to do cheers while playing. We play the ‘BOMB’ game while playing and it goes “ NP bomb NP bomb , NP bomb to NCC ” because it was rather sudden so NCC was quite shock and didn’t bomb back. So, they lose, we cheered like crazy people. Then, the seniors pass down papers to let us write our name if we want to play the games. There are two games, one is the Captain’s Ball game and the other one is the Obstacle.
The emcees came and say some things and ended with a ‘let the first section(games) begin.’. Then the teacher in-charge decided which UG play with which UG. After that we all proceeded to the top level of Indoor Sports hall. The first game for NPCC is with GG and NPCC won! GO NP! Then the next game is against NCC. But this time round, NP lost. All of us was quite disappointed but we know the players gave their best and we are proud of them. The third match is against BB and we lost again. The Fourth match is against GG again. We won. The players was VERY tired, tired until one of the players collapsed. Then, we went down for the second game, Obstacle. Teams have to be blindfolded with one commander to ask them to walk the correct direction etc. also known as the ‘guiders’. I was one of the ones who are blindfolded. It doesn’t feel good to not be able to see anything.

Next, we were given time to discuss about the campfire performance. Just then we are lack of performance and we need to change our plan. We are to choose one teacher and act as that teacher. After discussing and planning, we went to eat, its more like buffet than BBQ. We all took the food and sat down on the floor at the Indoor Sports Hall and ate. Accompanied with the delicious meal, there was songs, one of the songs was Apologies. Almost everyone sang and ‘danced’ along with the songs.

Then, after that we went for the Campfire, the thing we have been waiting for. The Campfire was lit up. And then, the emcees did cheers with us. And the performance began. The first UG to perform was NCC, they did a skit. It was HILARIOUS! Everyone was continuously laughing. And then, The second group is up, they are. NPCC! We were very nervous but we still went up to perform. First was Hong Kai acting as the principal. Then follow by Ivan acting as Mdm Teresa and so on. Everyone was very happy to see our performance. That made me very happy. After the acting performance, the sec 3s decided to do the commercial on Gatsby. The girls stand on the front and did the first part and then they squat down, the guys squatting at the back stand and do the part 2. It was gay-ish? But it managed to make all of them laughed! After that was performance by other UGs. And after the performances, the VP made a speech and then gave out prizes, first was for the Captain’s ball, NPCC came in third! And follow by Obstacle, NPCC first team got 1st! Im VERY happy! Then for the performance, NPCC got 1st again! For this three items, NPCC got two 1st! That was pretty impressive! GO NPCC! After that, we went for area cleaning. Then, NPCC fall-in outside NPCC room, the seniors talked, and then we went for a group photo at the Indoor Sports Hall. The CIs were ‘fighting’ over who took the nicest pictures that it took a long time. But we still have fun while take pictures. After that, went back to outside NP room for debrief. And then we went home.

It was a great time and I would love to have it once more!

On the 21of July, NPCC secondary 1 went out to the K9 dog Unit. We took about 30mintues to reach there. Everyone of us were excited. We were brought to a room where school of area6 were given a short instruction about the Dog Unit, But only some school were there that day.

After the introduction, we were brought to a place where dogs bathe or eat there. We could even touch the dogs and take pictures with them. Those who were afraid of dogs stayed away fron them quite a distance. The dogs were huge and seemed to be fierce, But they were calm. We were then entering a secured area which kept the dogs. We passed by every cages and most of the dogs were barking at us. But they were cute. Some of them comment that the dogs are very smelly and wondering how the trainers there survive.

Soon after, we returned back to our school and saw Vivian. She was so frustated because during the bus journey, We were very noisy! We have to change back to our school uniform and went home!

I hope that we could visit there again as It was fun!

NATIONAL DAY PARADE IN SCHOOL 2010

It was my first time taking part in the school's yearly NDP parade segment as the past 2 years i was performing on the stage in the hall.

Even though the feeling was about the same, I felt extremely nervous yet excited when the drum rolled "row.row.row.check. row.row.row.check".

The parade was taken charge by the NCC and parade commander was 3SGT Marcus , both Parade Commander and 2nd parade commander was cool as they were holding the sword. It is really an honour. Efforts paid off after only 2 rehearsals! It seems that the parade ended so fast. but we stood there for about 20 minutes. I hope I can join the National's NDP!

NATIONAL DAY DINNER, NATIONAL DAY OBSERVANCE CEREMONY

Rehearsals were just 2 short ones. but we did great :) I volunteered to be the state flag party as it can be quite memorable. I was really very nervous that night as it was not easy to slow march in less than one minute( Principal Instruction) . But we did it. I enjoyed the day very much as I got a chance to interact with the other Uniformed Groups members. The guest of honour was Mrs Lim Hwee Hua.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the NCC officers for training us for both school's and Serangoon CC NDP parades. I would also like to take the chance to thank everyone who have taken part in the parade... EFFORTS ARE FINALLY PAID OFF AS WE PERFORMED WELL. Hip Hip Hurray!

On last training, 16 April 2010, the sec 3s and 4s went out for the PYA and it was fun. We met alot of people and had an interesting time with them. I still couldn't get used in doing the admin stuff, but luckily, I have the help of the admin members. Hope that as more trainings are carried out, we will do a better jod.

Last week's training was a fun training and also the sec 4 were stepping down. We had our promotion test and i think we all did well for it. Some of our squadmate also teached the sec 1 8 basic knots and we learn round and shear lashing. We had our pt too. After that we had our debrief.

We fall-in outside np room. Only about six people were there. After all our attendance taking, we tell Ma'am that there will be 2 more people joining us.. Then she ask for 1 volunteer.. No 1 volunteered, so I volunteered.. I have to march them from the tar road to the basketball court there. Then I give them the command and march them there. We revised for our promotion test. After Liu Zhe came, we did our test. Our heart was like beating fast. We keep telling ourself relax. In the end, all did it. Then after we had finish our test, Thomas came. Then we went to changed. We were given 5 minute. The time was up!! And yet, some of the guys have not came out.. After time up, the guys came. Then Ma'am said go change to mufti.. We rush! Then exactly it was in time.. Pheww.. Then we went to change to our pt kit.. All rush one another.. Then it was lashing!! :) Then Ma'am ask Ryan and me teach our squadmates. We teach, but some need to teach slowly. I learn that we have to be patience in teaching people. After that we had PT!!Gordon Sir ask for 2 pti, I wanted to be but I give the chance to my squadmate.. Briefing, then home sweet home!

Last friday, sec 2 have a promotion test. We starting have to train drills and command. Nadzirah mdm also take notes and point for our command and drills. Once i remember is that we had to run to the very far end and shout out the command, and make sure that my squad at the other end heard the command and excecute it. After that, we went to changes and we had changing parade. Later on, we had our campcraft test. We had to test on our tying skill. Such as, round lashing and many more. When tying, a few of us are ask to teach the sec 1 the eight knot. Then, we had our pt. Ronnie and I voluteer to conduct the pt. Soon, the sec 3 came back and conduct the remaining pt. Then we had debrief and go home.

Wedesday 17 feb 2010, We had a unit training as well as campcraft training for the campcraft member. First thing first, the campcraft member got a campcraft training as our competition is near-by. After going first rounds, the non-campcraft training member came and watch us performed. After the second round, we went for 'louhei'! Got alot of ingredients plus salmon!!! Very special. But to me not really nice. After the 'louhei', We have to put back our campcraft things into the np room, so we when to put back the campcraft things nicely. Then we had a defrief. After the defrief, it time to go home.

This friday, I have learned 7 knots which is stopper knot, sheep shank knot, eight knot and many more. I have problems doing sheep shank and bowline, but Gordon sir help me with it. I learned all the knots at a classroom because it rain. That day also we did not have a Master Parade. Miss Seow told us that not every week we have Master Parade. We all gathered at the NPCC Hall when the sec 4's told us about the Amazing Race. We are split into 4 groups. I am in group 3. We need to find clues at the classroom. We all started well in the games, but when Ginna mam take all of our clues we all have nothing but only 1 clue which is torn .We felt bad, we look for clues but our effort is just nothing. We thought if we go back to the classroom where Ginna mam took our clue. We search everywhere but nothing. 2 of the sec 4 give us a chance which is doing a cheer for them and they will give us a clues. We all agree. When we got the clue, its time to go back the NPCC Hall and we are the second to reach there. Group 4 is the winner as they are the fastest group and group 1 is the slowest group. The slowest group have to do four feet. It is to do a banana dance. I have fun and I want to key in more about NPCC.

Today, the sec 2s will be having the total defence bronze badge. Mr vijey was the ones that gave us the lecture for half an hour . After that we have to take the test for 20 minutes. Its not that hard though. But a lot of thinking to do. After the test we need to head back to NPCC room to do our next activity. Our next activity was amazing race. Gathered at amphitheatre , and Baarath sir separate us into 4 groups . We mix around with the sec 1s , sec 2s and sec 3s. We were given 45 minutes to complete the game , we need to find all 6 npcc pledge , in block E and F. We went up and down. We managed to find 5. But the other one was being taken away from the CL. They are very funny. We also need to do cheers for them. It was very fun and funny. Then it was time’s up. The group that won was Group 4. And the last group have to do fourfeet. They danced Banana dance. It was very funny, Then last and for all , debrief. And Mr Vijey revealed our results. We all passed! We were very relieved and happy. And off-ed home. A fun but also tired day .

Firstly, this was my most fun NPCC training this month. First, we do not have Master Parade. This means we do not need to wear our uniform. We had drills under shelter as it was raining. After that, we all gathered where our senior told us about the game ‘Amazing Race’. We spilt into 4 groups and I was at group 3. My group went to find clues. The moment we went into the class, we found 1 clue. Ginna mdm took our clue and she accidently torn our clue. We do not waste our time and we quickly went to other class to find clues. Despite our effort, we still do not find any clue. We saw Fincent sir and Desmond sir. They wanted us to sing a loud cheer for them. We sing so loud that they give us a clue. We went to gatherer with the other groups. We were second group to reach there. I told my group to shout loud and they did. The wining team was group 4 as they had most of the clues. The losing team was group1 and they needed to do ‘four feet’. Their ‘four feet’ was to do banana dance. Their banana dance was quite funny. Although my group did not win the game but we were the loudest of all team. After this game, I realize that it is difficult to take care of sec1 as they were keeping running here and there. That why I wanted to write about today training.

Some of us were tired and has sore throat but we persevere all the way.
We cheer each other up to create a more cheerful situation. Some sec 1s were somehow amazed. We need to bond with our squad mates and our seniors. We have to be more patient. Not being in a sulky mood. But though we were tired, we still want to do the best for NPCC to get more new members. We want the sec 1s to know that NPCC is just not all about drills and stuffs. But a lot of bonding that leads around us.
Despite our hoarse voices we still make it to the end. Songs that cheers us up.
Some may abhor singing but throughout it they still think it’s fun and hilarious.
Water breaks provided us with a mere energy but it still can boost us up.
However, we put a smile on our faces whenever the sec 1s pass by. It may be laughter but in my opinion, at their view they may think that we make a great team. And has a lot of good relationship within us.
Being able to be in this part of event makes us all proud being an NPCC cadet.
Perseverance, patience and bonding are all about us today. And also in the future time and today was a lot of hard work for all of us. And we also enjoyed the day today.

I was part of promoting npcc through doing cheers. Although it does not sound like much work, trust me, it seriously is. It was a very fun experience i must say. If given an opportunity to choose again between drills, field cooking and doing cheers, the last will still win my vote hands down. The truth is the cheerleaders, including myself, did not start with foot when beginning cheering. The cheers were repetitive for almost every class. The secondary two students that were put below our charge were getting bored and started to complain, even the seniors, including myself, felt restless. Our energy level was decreasing by the minute, all of as were getting tired and already started to fell the strain in our throats. Our energy level was so low that our cadet inspector confronted us. He told us the importance of npcc cheers and also advised the seniors to do the cheers with an added element of fun to it to pump up the adrenaline in everyone. So, when he left, the seniors, including myself, got to work. We brainstormed a little and came up with an idea to fuse together a classic nursery song with an npcc cheers, we also threw in some team bonding games to kill time. Although that doesn’t really sound like a fantastic idea, it was still fine. Everyone ended up having a blast .Generally speaking that was one the best team bonding time I had with since the beginning of the year.

Royal Malaysia Trip Reflection

The trip was very fun and interesting. We went to a lot of places like Malacca central Police Headquarters, Putrajaya Police Headquarters, Marine Base, cadet interaction with the students, Police Museum, Pusat Latihan Polis Kuala Lumpur (PULAPOL), Maktab PDRM (Forensic), Baba Nyonya Heritage, different shopping centres and restaurants.

They brought us to different restaurants with different kind of dishes like Chinese, Baba Nyonya, Indian and others. We had a bumpy and unforgettable boat ride at the Marine Base. The cadets there were very friendly, they showed us around their school. They had a 2-storey library, their field was like a stadium and they showed us where they trained which was a big area to us but to them it was small. We also exchanged phone numbers and email address. I learn that the people from the area will come to the particular school and also based on their results. Malaysia focuses a lot in the religion, where the female police also wear scarf.

It was a lot of fun and experience. I got to know more about our neighbouring country and also to make a lot of new friends from different schools. It was a long 5 days trip that felt very short. As said, time flies. I hope I could get the opportunity to go to other places again!

During the annual camp from 16 to 18 November, I enjoyed it as there were so many activities done. There were games played in school and some activities done out of school. One of the activities that I enjoyed the most is when I go for bowling at Yishun SAFRA. At first we were divided into groups. Then the instructors taught the basic techniques on how to bowl and revise on the bowling etiquettes and rule so as to avoid any injuries that may happen while bowling. After that everyone started to play bowling. The instructors set a competition to everyone, where those who managed to get the highest points win. I never won for the competition but it was fun playing bowling. From the bowling activity, I have learnt the proper way to hold a bowling ball and also the correct way to throw a bowling ball.

I love the bowling section of the annual camp as I love to bowl. I do not know how to bowl properly even if I have my personal ball. After the bowling training, I was enriched with more techniques. The coaches are friendly and warm-hearted. They gave me tips on how to strike and spare. They encouraged us by rewarding us after we get a strike or spare. On the tournament, I did not score well as I was very tired. I was sort of disappointed with myself. I feel happy for my squad mates, seniors and juniors who were the top 4. I LOVE ANNUAL CAMP 2009!!!

It was a fun camp. I learn that casualty always comes first and even though it’s a leisure camp, you must be discipline at all times. My favourite part was the Semakau walk. It did not look like a place where rubbish is thrown. There are lots of organisms that cannot be found on the mainland. I like the sea-star the most. I learnt that Singapore’s water is very clean and we should use it wisely. In the very next 30 years, Semakau may be fully filled and there are no other islands to dump elsewhere. So we must play our part to reduce, reuse and recycle to minimise waste. It was a great opportunity to explore the island and to learn more about it.

Annual Camp was held from 16 Nov to 18 Nov 2009. On the first day, after the Camp Admin, flag raising and camp opening had completed, the first activity was Icebreaking & Team bonding games. Square Catcher and Everybody's Catcher are one of the games that the cadets played. I can see that they were having fun with their groupmates. After lunch, the groups had flag making to display their own identity. I started to see teamwork in them. Then it was time for the selected cadets to head for Semakau Walk. It resulted with very little campers left in school. However, the small group of campers still had fun. They had Recreation after that. Dodgeball is one of the games they had. Since there were very few campers, my squadmates join in the game. Afternoon movie was next. They watched "Monsters VS Aliens" and halfway through for "The Day After Tomorrow". It was time for them to have their wash-up and dinner. After that, they had sing-a-long session and at the same time, the other campers who went for Semakau Walk had reached back to school already. When everyone came together, they went to their respective levels to have their performance preparation. Soon, it was time for debrief and writing of reflection, wash up, supper and lights out.

Day 2 started off with Physical Training and Food Trail for breakfast at Serangoon Gardens. Bowling was next. We went to Yishun Safra for this. This is the activity I enjoyed most in the whole camp. We were taught on how to bowl and the techniques. We also learnt the etiquette for bowling. Rock climbing was after lunch. I managed to climb up higher than what I expected. When we came back to school, it was time to have wash up. After that, we had buffet for dinner and the moment had finally come for performance, where the Sec 1s, Sec 2s and Sec 3s would be performing what they had prepared for the Sec 4s. When everything was over, we carried on with the night activity. The activity is called "Kidnapped". It is a game where a team member is being kidnapped and the other groupmates should go through all stations to find their missing group member. Every station has its own activity to be done, so as to proceed to the next checkpoint. After this, we had a debrief and writing of reflection. The day ended with wash up, supper and lights out.

In the last day of camp, after physical training and breakfast, they had water games. They had a few stations to go through, which will make them get wet and also having fun at the same time. After wash up, bunk out, area cleaning and flag lowering, we had the awards presentation. Congrats to the best male and female campers, and the best group! Then it was camp closing and lastly, home sweet home.

This Annual Camp 09 was a fun and exciting camp. It was the first camp that the sec 3 CLs had planned. Although, there are confusion throughout the camp but it was a learning experience for the sec 3s for the coming sec 1 orientation and sec 3 NCO camp. There were many changes in the schedule as I think that it could be done before the camp and not in the camp. The activities that I liked most were the bowling at Yishun Safra and the Rock Climbing also at Yishun Safra. Although the outdoor activites were fun, the indoor activities could have been more fun than the outdoor activities. I personally think that Day 3 was the best as there weren't much changes in the schedule. Although this camp was a fun and exciting camp, but if there was a campfire and the campers could have dry rations, it could look more like a camp. However, I think this camp was for the Sec 4s so if they were happy in the camp, I am delighted. Wish All The Graduating Sec 4s Good Luck On Your Journey And Thank You For Your Contributions To NPCC. On 30 October 2009, we had to fall-in in school uniform outside NPCC room at 1.45pm. After we fall-in, sirs and madams gave us 10 minutes to change into full-u. After changing and reporting, we did revision on our drills. I think that my squadmates had forgotten some drills, so that was the time to revise. After training, we changed back into PT kit. PT was fun! We had Captain's Ball for recreation. Then everyone looked so tired, so we were given water break. After that, it was time for debrief and home sweet home.

We were divided into two groups. It was very fun. Also, we ran around the court and jump the Super Mario. Soon, it was time to go home.

The previous training on 30th October was splendid eventhough the total strength was really little. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our muster parade and have P.T instead. Before that, we practiced some rifle drills. We learned how to ‘hormat’ and ‘turun’ and some other commands. P.T surprisingly was really fun and exciting. I learned something new during P.T, the “Buddha Clap” and “Super Mario”. It was funny looking at how we jumped trying to execute the “Super Mario” command. “Super Mario”, requires you to jump while running and shouting “oi” at the same time. It was hilarious. For recreation, we played captain’s ball. We were divided into two different groups. Each group consist of sec 1 and 2 and also CLs. After the game, we had a little “talking session” while waiting for debrief. We were mainly talking about the coming Campcraft Competition. I had a wonderful time during this training even with a few people. I bet with more people attending, we will have a much better time.

Today, we had our promotion test. All of us were very scared and at the same moment, we're excited. We first had our PT, ran around the school to warm up, after that we cooled down and started. We did push-ups and sit-ups. After that, we started the test. We were all very excited and I think we all did well. After that we changed back into our pt kits then we had some revisions. Nadzirah ma'am recap on the 8 basic knots and soon we went in 3 by 3 to start. After that, we had some recreational activities. Finally, it was time to home.

Today is the first day we brought our full uniform to school and wear it publicly to the whole school . Today is also the toughest training we had so far, in my opinion. There’s is so much things to talk about today’s training.

We practised drills under the bridge today and the sun was burning hot. With our uniform on, it was scorching hot. Then I know how my seniors felt during muster parades. After thinking of it, I decided to persist on. If they can withstand the heat, I can. I told myself this when doing the drills. There were water-breaks in between and I took my chance to drink up.

Then it was the muster parade. My squadmates and I stood under the sun, trying not to move when there is no need to. Then i realise that we are not familiar with our drills. We need more practise.

Then it is the games. It was very fun. We need to memorise the actions done by the cadets in our group. The last person need to remember all of them and I am one of them. My group was the last and we needed to do a forfeit. We need to dance the banana dance. It was very fun and the same time embarrassing.

On 4th June 2009, we had training that was quite tiring and tough. It was drills part that was tough and tiring. Because we have to keep repeating if we did not do it correctly. We must have coordination. That is what I had learnt from Wei Long Sir. If we never lock our arm or we do something wrong, we have to do 10 push-ups. We learnt quite a few new drills and then proceeded to campcraft, the tying of the 8 basic knots. Then we went to amphitheatre to play a game. First game was the rubber band passing using our mouth. Second game was the Caterpillar. It was very difficult but my group got the second place. That was the end of the training.

On 23rd May 2009, is a Carnival Day. Although it is tough, I still had lots of fun! Around 12.55pm, we had reached in front of the school gate. After our attendance has been taken, Ms Seow brought us to the place. When we reached, they have not started yet. While we were waiting, Ms Seow decided to take our photo. After that, they break us into groups. At 2pm, we went to our respective stations for our duties. My station was at the jumping balloon. Our duty is not to let the children do all the dangerous or wrong things. Some of them jumped down from a slide. Eventhough we tell them, they still do not bother about us. After we had finished our duty at 5.15pm, we went for our dinner and we went home. I'm very happy.

On the 22 May 2009, we had our training as usual. We had to fall in at 2.15 pm. We need to be in our full uniform, but me and my friends did not know how to wear it. Luckily, we have our Sec 3 seniors to help us. They are a great help.

After that we had to fall in and our attendance was taken. So the first activity was drills and marching. It was quite hard as we had to practice under the hot burning sun. We had to march repeatedly as our sirs and madams were not quite happy with it. But I see all my squad mates were enduring it. We all tried our very best to keep it up and to do it well. We marched and marched until they were impressed. Finally, they were quite happy with it. All of us were very tired after doing the marching on the spot. But practice makes perfect! After that, we had 5 mins water break and all of us had a smile on our face.

Then we had to march all the way to the parade square. All of us do it properly and carefully listening to the timing that was given by our Sirs. We had to fall in near the corridor. We had muster parade.

Ms Seow was in full uniform with a sir. We were under the hot sun. All of us were enduring. All my friends were persevering and tried to bear with it. I myself was trying to bear with it too. Yes, finally all the giving of badges was given to the sec 3s. All of us were finally under a shelter. After that we fall in outside the tar road. We were all given 10 minutes to get changed. But the sec 2 were given 8 minutes. We all managed to keep up to the time. After all that changing we had our PT (physical training). After around 10 minutes, we had a game. It was quite fun but there’s a forfeit too. Group 1 was forfeited to do a banana dance. All of us laughed loudly.

Then we had a debrief. Miss Seow said some words with us and telling us about the upcoming activities. Finally we were dismissed. And there we go home sweet home. But what I had actually learned today is perseverance and endurance. It was really a fun day for me. As I especially like drills. And all the NCOs’ were very patient to us. And great thanks to all the sirs and madams for teaching us.

Today was the day for 0.22 Classification Shoot. I am very excited as I wanted to get marksman for this shoot. I must get a score of at least 60 and above to get marksman. There were instructors to explain to the cadets how to use the revolver. There are 16 bullets, 8 bullets each round, load and reload. Unfortunately, I was only able to get one bullet 'in' and zero 'out'. I was quite shocked, wondering where my 15 bullets went to. I learned from this lesson is practice makes perfect.

On 17 February 2009, it is a big day for me and the team. We went to AMK hub for the song and rap competition. I am anxious, nervous and excited about the event. The event is organised by the Ang Mo Kio Police Division. I reminded my squadmates to come and support us. Fortunately, our team was the last few to perform. We saw the other teams' performances and gain confidence. Finally, it was our turn to perform. After performing,the judges gave their comments. Whle waiting for the result, a performance by JingShan Primary was put up. The time arrived, we are so anxious to know the result. After hearing all the consolation prize but none was us. Next it was first and second runner up but none was us. To everyone's surprise, we won the champion place! Actually all efforts doesn't depend on us but the whole unit, 3E4, Mr Muhz, Mr Krish And Ms Noreen.

Thank you to all that make this happen and make this a success. After much training is paid off.

After this camp experience, I have overcome my phobia of the dark after the night game. I have also made closer bonding with my fellow Sec 1 cadets. I find the Sec 3 seniors very thoughtful. They give up on the noodle package to me which left one package only and they have to share it despite being hungry.

I realised that teamwork and trust among the team members is important during the teambonding games that we had. For example, the egg-parachute, we need to discuss about how we should make the egg not to crack by the end of the experiment. We also need to have trust in each other when playing the night activity.

I found the drills are nice. When I went home after the camp, I practice the drills that I have learned and found that I am like a real police officer in the national day parade. Although I am not sure about the names of the command given by my seniors, I will try to remember bit by bit and execute the correct moves. I look forward to learning more commands.

I look forward to the Sec 2 camp in the second year. I heard that we can handle real guns in the second year. I am so excited!

From 16th-18th March, which was during the holidays, several Sec 1 cadets and I went to the NPCC Sec 1 Recruitment Camp. Some of the activities during the camp were tiring, such as the Physical Training, but I feel that feeling tired is not the main point. I have learnt a lot during the camp, such as participating actively in the games prepared by our seniors. I am sure that will benefit in future as being active is good instead of being dull and not to do anything. Although it might not be my best performance throughout the camp, but I will work better for future NPCC trainings. We also learned some cheers such as Purple Light, Peace by the River actions and the song itself and Flea Fly (Versions Of Flea Fly: Flo, Motorcar, Mosquito and Area’s 6 version of Flea Fly). Even though not all the sec 1 cadets would be selected into the NPCC squad, I do hope all of us would get selected into the squad.

On 16, 17 & 18 of March we had the sec1's selection camp. On the first day it was the opening of the camp, so the Singapore flag, school flag and the NPCC flag was raised. After that we had P.T. and then my squad mates were placed in different groups named SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squid ward and Sandy. After that we had ice breaking games followed by lunch. After lunch, my squad mates went to the computer lab to do a competition that is to design a t-shirt for the smoke-free campaign. After that my squad mates did some basic drills and was introduced to a new drill and then my squad mates was dispersed to their own group for the campfire preparation. At night we sang songs, play night game, had a debrief and then went off to sleep. On the 2nd day, we woke up early for the trekking at Harbourfront. Before the trekking, we had P.T. and breakfast. When we reached Harbourfront we had to walk up the stairs, up the canopy walk and the bridges. We had to endure with the hot weather until we reached the final destination. It was a tiring journey but a fun experience when going for the trekking. When we return, we learnt two new drills taught by the sec3's and then had a short master parade. After that we had the last minute campfire preparation to prepare for the real campfire on that evening. The campfire started by singing songs with the sec3's leading and then watched different groups performing their skits, songs and cheers. After the campfire ends, me and my squad mates were supposed to have night game, but since there is insufficient time, we sat at the amphitheatre and hear ghost stories. After that we had night walk. For the night walk, everyone in every group was blindfolded except for the person right in front as they are the ones who guide the groups along the way full of obstacles. After the night walk we had a debrief and then went off to sleep. On the last day, we played games like dog and bone, water bomb, bamboo pole and the rubber band game. After the games, all of the groups had to do area cleaning. The sec3's was not present as they were headed to the Head quarters. After the area cleaning my squad mates went to the bunk to take all their stuffs and then assemble outside the general office. Outside the general office, we had the prize presentation then followed by the lowering down of the flag and the camp was declared closed and my squad mates returned to their HOME SWEET HOME!

The camp opening on first day, they raise up the NPCC flag. After that we have to do physical training. Next they break us into groups and I'm in SpongeBob’s group. The first ice breaking game was 'name game'. We have to remember our friends name in our own group, or else we have to do forfeit. Next game was 'Wacko'. Then it’s lunchtime! It was easy for me because during my P6 camp, I learn how to cook using mass tin. After lunch, we went to computer lab for t-shirt competition design for the Sec1.

Next was team bonding. My favourite was the parachute because it will be our dinner if it doesn't crack or break. But all the groups’ egg broke and cracked. Next was our basic drills, then we discuss about campfire preparation. Next we bathe then have our dinner. We again have campfire preparation. After that we went for debrief and lights out!

The next day after we've report, flag raising, do physical training and have our breakfast, we went for trekking. We've to walk 16km from Harbourfront to Kent Ridge. After that, we've our lunch and then drills. After that was muster parade but some of the Sec1 went for interview. And then the Sec3 taught us the campfire song and after that we have our dinner. Next we have our campfire! Some of the group acted and did cheers. After the campfire, we have to drink a mixture of hundred plus, lemon and others. It taste sour, sweet, bitter and a litter bit of spicy. Sour represents something bad. Sweet represents happiness. Bitter represents glumness. And Spicy represents hard work. Next was the ghost stories from our sirs and madams and we played a game while waiting for the night walk. After that was night walk. Everyone in the group has to be blindfolded except the leader. One person in each group was taken away. After that we have debrief and lights out!

The last day, after we've done our flag raising, physical training and breakfast, we played a game. We played bamboo pole, dog n bone, pass & catch water bombs using poncho, caterpillar and pass rubber band using toothpick. Then we went for area cleaning. Different group, different area. Then we had flag lowering. Then it was prize presentation. The camp was then closed! That’s all for the reflection.

At about 2pm, Alvin and Alan sir conduct a slide show and they were talking about “Crime Prevention.” In the talk, our CIs told us some of the common ways how the theft takes the opportunity to commit crimes. And one of the ways is to breaks into our house and the Industrials. The examples are, when doors are forced open, locks and catches are cur and enter by cutting the fences. To prevent being a victim of this crime, try not to carry a lot of jewelries, large amount of cash, set security alarm systems entry, use good quality closed padlock, light up your house and you should not keep large sum of money in your house and instead, save it inside your bank. And you can also install a camera at the entrance door. And also, if you saw any theft or robbery, please dial 999 and informed the police. After the slide show, test was given and it was quite easy to do as most of the questions are related to the slide show. After that, we had our master parade then, we went to the parade square to practice our dance for the NPAP. After the dance we left the school.

On 11th of February, 3 of my squad mates and I with Mr. Peh went patrolling around the neighbourhood. At 2.50pm, we fall-in near the general office in our full-u. After Mr. Peh and the policeman had reached we headed off. The other policeman will be joining us half-way during our patrolling as he had something to handle first.

During the patrolling, we learnt how to suspect underage smoking and we need to write down their names, IC, contact numbers and their house address. We asked the officer the purposes of jotting it down and he explained that, for instance, they may need it to check if the people are wanted or if they run away from home, they will be able to check it. Not long after, another police officer came to join us.

After that, we all had a question and answer sections with the policemen held outside the general office. We asked questions like what are the most common crimes and how to see if one is on drugs. The policemen explained to us how to identify someone who is on drugs, as the person will be slow in his or her movements and his or her eyes will be red.

The most common crime is shop theft.

We were also told that if we are suspecting someone, we need to be alert, observant and fast. The punishment for first time underage smokers is a fine of $30 with counselling while the second time will be a fine of $300 with counselling.

The policemen also told us to spread to our friends about not bringing too much valuables to school as this will result in more crimes and us becoming the victims and to secure our own valuables. Through this patrolling experience, my squad mates and I had learnt a number of new things and I think all of us had a better understanding of the job of patrolling as a police officer. This patrolling is very enriching and enjoyable.

On 13th February, Friday, we went to give out brochures about first aid. We assembled outside the foyer at 1.30p.m. and had a briefing on what we have to do by Miss Iswari. We were given a stack of brochure and were instructed to distribute at block 105. The brochure provides us information on what we have to do if any emergency happens such as cuts and other injuries, where you can get first aid from and how we can contact the head of Red Cross Foundation. After the briefing, we headed off to block 105. We started out by distributing it at the highest floor, 13, and half way through the block, we met the Red Cross members, Dhacha and Wei Kit. We did the last few storeys and at last we managed to complete the whole block. While Dhacha and Wei Kit assembled at block 106, we went back to school and reported for training. It was a great experience for us! :)

At first, I had no idea what we were going to do for Chingay. We were looking forward to Chingay. During the workshop, the girl guides were not active at first because we were quite tired. But after that we enjoyed ourselves as we saw the NPCC having fun.

On the first day of Chingay, Friday, I was curious as to how Chingay looked like. We were grouped, and the three of us, Mythili, Amalia and I, were left out during the Chingay parade because all the other motivators were adults. Fortunately, a group of teachers from other schools dragged us in to join the fun.

On the second day, they re-grouped us and we had a lot of fun together. The parade started a bit earlier than the day before. But, unfortunately we had to go back early.

We really looked forward if there is another chance to let us join the Chingay parade. We really enjoyed ourselves and knew each other better.

On 30 January '09, after school we had our lunch and fall in outside NPCC room. We had been looking forward to this day and it finally came. Today is the first day of the Chingay events and all were very excited as some of us had never been so close to the Chingay performances before. Once the attendance was taken, we changed into our required attire and waited for the bus which would take us to City Hall area. We were all served with burgers and bread to fill our stomach and once after, we gathered with our respective group mates where we practiced our Chingay cheers. Soon after, we had our puppet gloves on and were welcoming the guests. It was fun and interesting to be a motivator. Some people smiles back to us, some did not. We used the puppets to show some funny actions. It caught a lot of small childrens’ attention. (: Sometimes we were thristy, we went to drink some water. Very soon the night fall, there were fireworks showing that the events had started Time for us to rest and watch the Chingay performance. There were different types of races and countries performance. First one, I saw is a lion I think it is representing Singapore. The lion look nice & awesome. After that I cannot remember clearly which came first, but I knew there was a particular dragon called joss stick dragon I think. And I saw Japanese performance, very nice and I saw some woman playing the drums on a lorry? We were so excited when we saw a artist named "Yao Yi Shan" she wore the Japanese costume very pretty. We also saw Korea performance I like those people who playing the drum with their hats got a long string turning, very unique which only can seen in Korea. Then we gained a lot of experience about this program. After we went back to our school, we had a short debrief session by our OC Ms Seow. She brief us about what need to bring for second day of Chingay and comment on our performance of being motivators on that day on what we need to improve. After that, we had ended our first day of being motivators in Chingay. (:

On 31 January '09, very fast the second day of Chingay. (: We fall in at 2.30pm in school and changed into our Chingay shirt and wore our lanyard. Before boarding the bus, we had got our puppets and start to head to City Hall which is our meeting point. When we reached there, we sat down and got our dinner and later spilt to our different groups. I went to my respective group with my friends. We were singing some cheers and had some chat again. Time passes fast, already 5plus going to be 6 we went to our in charge place. We do the same thing as usual we did yesterday. This time we were more hyper than yesterday, went shouting the cheers out of our lungs. When night fall, we were on the puppet's light. It look very nice in the night. Very soon, we had done our jobs. We quickly grab some bites and watch the same performance as yesterday. Then went back to the meeting point and take a group photo. We boarded the bus and reached school much earlier than yesterday. We thanked Ms Seow and Ms Noreen for giving us this chance to take part in much a big event we had ever took part in and we gain a lot of experience from here.

On the 31st of January, we had our second day of the Chingay parade 2009. We fall-in at 2.30pm in school and changed into our Chingay T-shirt and worn our lanyard. Before we boarded the bus, we had also collected our puppets and then given some briefing and then we started to head towards the meeting point.

After we had reached, we do the same thing as we did on yesterday which was to split into the different groups and today the weather was great as it was very cooling and it wasn’t raining. So we were deployed shortly after that. Today there are some changes in the groupings. The first day we had T1-T8 for our M3 but today there were only T1-T6 as some of our groups combined to form larger groups.

So there were newcomers too for today which came from ITE and they joined T1-T4 as T5-T6 had a lot of manpower already. So we had some games before the parade started so as to help each other know more about all of us, so after the game we had our dinner and then around 7.15pm we were deployed to our stations as the audience were already filling up the seats.

We then cheered in front of the audience as the pre-parade performance was on-going, and after that the parade had been commenced so we also cheered our lungs out for today. So the procedure was the same for today, and since we already had the experience from the first day, we were more careful on not repeating the mistakes that we made during the first day and improve on our attitudes towards the audience.

So after doing our jobs, we fall-in back at the first meeting point and then we took a big family photo! And then we boarded the bus and headed back to the school. After reaching the school, our OC Ms Seow and our TO Ms Noreen thank us for being so positive and so sporty for this event and our leaders had also given positive feedbacks of our performance and we too thanked our OC and TO for giving us this opportunity to gain more experience in this event, and with that we had ended our Chingay 2009 motivator duties!

On the 30th of January, we the NPCC from Serangoon Garden Secondary School are the motivator of the Chingay 2009. On the first day, we fall-in at 1.45 pm as we had our traditional Lau Yusheng for our unit because of the Chinese Lunar New Year, followed on our CLs distributed our Chingay T-shirts, lanyard and the puppets to us. We then quickly changed and boarded the bus as we were a little bit behind time.

When we reached the meeting point, the volunteer there helped us to settle down and then we waited for the PA Mr Raymond to give his instruction. After that, we were split into M1-M5 as we had to refresh our memory on those cheer that we had learned before. My group was M3 and we had been rearranged into smaller groups from T1-T8, so I was in group T3 for M3 and our group M3 had to take care of the whole area 4 of the Marina Bay side as other groups had been deployed to the city hall side from area 1-3.

Our deployment was slowed down as it was raining cats and dogs, so during the waiting period, we had our cheer and some games to help us bond within our groups. Then when the weather was better, we started to walk to our areas and upon reaching, we had been told that new members from other schools would be joining our groups, and their number was great so our leader told us that we would have to help them teach the newcomers the cheers as they are just simply the volunteer from some schools which do not had any idea on the cheers.

So the school which came was a school from the Tampines area, and they were also from NPCC. So we worked together with our group leaders to teach the newcomers about the cheers. After that, we were deployed to the different places in area 4 and then the parade had been commenced shortly after that, and during the parade we the motivator cheered and scream our lungs out as it was our duty to motivate the audience there. During around the item 9 we were asked to fall-in back at our first meeting point, so it was indeed a good experience that I had gained through this program. After we went back to our school, we had a short debrief session by our OC Ms Seow, she commented us for our hard work and then briefed us on the activity for tomorrow and with that, we had ended our first day as a motivator for Chingay 2009.

Hong Kong and Macau Trip 2008

This trip was really fruitful! Everyone who went for this trip enjoyed ourselves very much.The people, visits, laughter and everything was so nice. We visited places such as, Hong Kong police HQ, Central Police Station, Police dog unit, Cheung Chau Police Station, JPC Club house, Macau Flying Eagle, Macau Fire Station and more. Not forgetting the most fun and memorable places like, Ocean park and City tour. Through these, I made 38 best buddies, 6 wonderful CIs and 10 splendid Teacher Officers.

I love the performance my group, Mamboist, put up. The 20 of us dance with the song ‘ Mambo Number 5 ’ in Full U! So cool! We had so much fun when we were practicing the dance every night.

We embark on the journey alone. Knowing no one for other unites turns out to be the best among the best.

On the 17 of January 2009, Saturday, there were people from NPCC, Girl Guides and Red Cross from SGS going to the PA (People's Association} for the Chingay. There were a few of the Montfort NPCC Cadets and basketballers from Hougang Secondary joined us as well. Some of my squadmates thought that we will be making hand puppetry but as we reached the PA, we were given a role as a "motivator" which plays an important role on Chingay. As we reached the PA, there were many people. There were people from the Peicai and Xinmin NPCC and students from the Poly and JC. There were a total of 5 groups, "M1", "M2", "M3", "M4" and "M5". There were three Chingay cheers and everyone had learnt all of them. Then, we were given some scenarios which may occur on the actual day and we were taught how to handle those cases. After that, the people from the PA wanted two people from each group to come to the stage. Fincent and Desmond were being sabotage by some Poly students from "M3". They were made to do cheers on stage with the other 4 groups. Before leaving from the PA, we were made to do the three cheers one last time and everyone shouted very loudly.

After leaving from the PA, when we were back in school, Ms Seow told us that we will be getting 20 hours of CIP and the attire for the Chingay during the debrief. I am looking forward for the actual day of Chingay.

On 16 January was the first training for the sec 1s. We had drills straightaway after the marking of attendance. What I enjoy most for the drills is the rifle drills as it was my first chance to get a hold of the rifle.

It was so cool. It was quite heavy but it was nothing to me. Later on, we were asked to throw the rifle and catch it with only one hand. At first, I thought that it was very hard and if we drop the rifle, we have to do 50 pumping. Hence, my squadmates were so scared that they have to do 50 pumping. I was so scared and dare not to throw the rifle.

Later on, one of my squadmates accidentally dropped the rifle. As a result, we were asked to do 50 pumping. After that, we had our Physical Training. It was so fun as we had not done PT for quite some time already. After that, we had debrief and we can finally go home.

On 17 January 2009, it was a trip to People's Association, we fall in by 12 at car ponch, the CLs marked our attendence and we get up to the bus. We reached there about 12.45pm.

Then when we arrived, we went into a room. We were spilt into M1, M2, M3, M4 and M5. Starting i was in M3, then a guy ask me to choose 4 people to go to M4. We introduce ourselves to the group and we group ourselves into a group of 5. I group with Ivan, Leeroy, Hong Kai and Cody. We were brief on what to do on 30th and 31st on January itself. The brief last about 15 to 30 minutes. The people-in-charge give us 2 papers and want us to read out and act the scenario on the paper. I act as spectator on scenario 5 and 6. After acting the scenario, we was given a short toilet break. When we came back, we play a mini game. Then, the host want us to choose 2 people to go up the stage for the cheers.The cheers last about 10 to 20 minutes. Then we started briefing again, the briefing is quite long and make me very sleepy. After the briefing, we were dismiss from the briefing room and got up the bus to go back to the school. We fall in at the car ponch again, then start briefing about the thing in chingay on 30th and 31st january, what to wear on that day. The CLs give us a paper to write our name, NRIC and the T-shirt size, then we were dismiss from school.

On the 17th of January, Saturday, I went to school at 12pm, and fall-in in the foyer with my squadmates. After waiting for everyone to come and we headed to the People Association . Once we reach the People Association , we fall in there and then waited for the Chingay's member instruction to move on inside a some kind of hall . Alot of people was inside . Like schools like Peicai Secondary and Xinmin Secondary . And some Monfort Secondary guys . But not forgetting the volunteers I think , too join the Chingay'09 . After that , we were separated into groups . M1 , M2 , M3 , M4 and M5 . Mostly of our school pupils are in M2 , M3 and M4 . I was in M3 . After that we have some introductions among our groups . We learned cheers and we know the names of the people in our group. And I made a lot of friends. Also, One of the cheers goes like "chingay chingay *clapclap* chingay chingay *clapclap* chingay chingay *clapclap*", and a lot more fun cheers. After that , we have a briefing. In the briefing we know how the tickets looks like and stuffs. It was a long briefing And also, we know which area we should go, and what we should do. After the briefing , we spilt in two halves . We discussed with our group leaders how to react when something going to happened, So we roughly know what to do on that day already . Then, after that , we also have some games to play. I was so fun and I enjoyed myself a lot! And then we learnt one new cheer from the leader of M3 . Eunice, Li shan and I was very hyper. The cheer goes like, "welcome to chingay, alright, okay! This way to chingay, supsup oie! Welcome to chingay, Chingay woot woot! This way to Chingay, sapsap oii! ~ " This cheer really made me very hyper! Then after the cheer, we have toilet breaks in between, and briefing once again, then after that, we left there.
Then, after that, we went back to school, Mr Peh and Ms Seow gave us some briefing, and then, the CLs dismissed us.
It was a fun experience and I cant wait till chingay that they where I can do my duties!

Saturday, 17/1/09, we reached school at 12pm sharp. We fall-in in our PT kit. After taking attendance, our teachers Mr Peh and Ms Seow, told us briefly what we would be doing at the People's Association. We were told that we would be learning how to be a motivator.

After that, we boarded the bus according to our levels. When we reached there, we fall-in at the path way and we walked into the building in squad form. Upon entering the hall, we also saw Pei Cai Secondary Npcc cadets. We were separated into groups from M1 to M5. They also introduced the different group leaders and assistant leaders. After being separated in groups, the group leaders brought the groups to different corners around the hall. They told us some scenarios that might happen during the parade and teach us how to handle with the problems. They also taught us some cheers and how to motivate the audience during the performance.

At about 4plus, we boarded the bus and went back to school. Ms Seow told us the attire to wear and time to fall in on 30/1/09. Afterall, we were dismissed.

On 17 January '09, a Saturday afternoon, a group of pupils went to the People's Association for Chingay motivators briefing. We were accompanied by the teacher officers, Mr Peh and Ms Seow. Not only SGS NPCC cadets went there. The SGS GG, SGS Redcross, Montfort Sec and Hougang Sec pupils also followed us there. We fall in at 12noon at the school foyer, then the CLs mark the attendance and soon we were ready to go. When we reached there, we were asked to go into an air-conditioned hall. By then, the Peicai Sec cadets had arrived. Then we were grouped into 5 groups, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5 together with the heartware volunteers. A few minutes later, the Xinmin Sec cadets also came. We played icebreaking and introduces ourselves and learn cheers.

Later on, we had a briefing, then we were divided into groups again. We have to discuss about a few scenarios that might happen during that event, we were led by the heartware volunteers. After that, a few groups from M2 formed into one big circle, then divided into groups, then we introduced ourselves and played a game called 'Concentration'. We joined back into the group and had another briefing. Later on, we practiced the cheer as well as learning a new cheer.

Today we had our first training with the sec 1s. There were 15 sec 1s for the day. They played games while the sec 2s did their campcraft and while we, the sec 3s, did drills. We had an astounding number of 19 cadets for our squad and practiced our drills. We also had baton drills. We were unprepared for the drills as we were only told to bring our pt kit. Some of us had forgotten our drills and had a short recap. We progressively got better and were one with our squadmates. I felt that if people had done good, they should be praised and rewarded for their hard work and efforts. By doing this, everyone would strive to do better. Although we did not join the sec 1s, to get to know them or even play with them, we would like to send them or rather give them the impression that through NPCC, leadership, fun, friendships and other characters and such can be developed.

We then progressed on to try our rifle drills. We all had a bit of difficulty at frist, "Transferring" instead of "Flipping" the rifle. If we dropped the rifle, we would have to do 50 push-ups. If we dropped the rifle and any part of it breaks, we would have to do 50 push-ups and pay $80 for another one. We were reluctant at first, afraid that we might drop the rifle, Shereen ma'am made us put our left hand behind our backs and toss the rifle to catch it back again only with our right hand. Many of us succeeded while others had not. One of our squadmates dropped the rifle on the first try and although he had "failed", he had succeeded in a way that he managed to 'flip' instead of 'transferring'. We were glad that we had gotten a chance to try some rifle drills.

Soon after, we had our PT (Physical Training). Stretching properly, we could not afford for everyone have cramps or get injured during PT. PT was the only, limited time to interact with the sec 1s. Through PT, we grow stronger physically and mentally, in our strength, endurance and mentality. We shouted our loudest, went into 'hyper mode' and started to have fun. Running 1 and the half around the school, we sang songs and did cheers. Many joined in to sing along. Soon after, we asked to carry out our 50 push-ups. As our fitness was not up to standard, we only did 25 push-ups. The remaining 25 was doule to 50 jumping jacks which ended up at 100 jumping jacks.

We had our debrief next by Ms Seow and Mr Peh. They brought up topics mainly concerning the sec 1s and hoped they would stay. They too talked to us about the Chingay practice for the next day. The debried ended and we all went home exhausted but contented. :)

On 16 January, we have NPCC training. There are some secondary 1 students that went for a tryout of how NPCC is like. Altogether, if I'm not wrong, there are 15 secondary 1 students. After all the greeting and stuffs, we proceeded to the amphitheatre for campcraft. We were given 2 poles each and 1 twine. But as our surroundings were too noisy, we changed our venue to E01-02 for our campcraft. We were divided into 3 groups. We learnt how to tie round lashing and shear lashing. After we had finished learning, we went to fall in outside the classroom and we headed back to NPCC room. We had PT after that. After some warm up, we went for a run until the school's office there and we marched all the way back to NPCC room. The PT was really fun. After PT, we had a debrief from Mr Peh and Ms Seow. We were then dismissed.

These are the steps of how to make a round lashing:

Step 1: Put two poles together and tie a clove hitch on both poles together and tie a thumb knot on the shorter end.

Step 2: Tie a few rounds on the 2 poles until the running end left a little.

Step 3: End with a clove hitch.

These are the steps of how to make a shear lashing:

Step 1: Use one pole first and do a clove hitch.

Step 2: Take both poles together and tie aroung the pole about 3 times.

Step 3: Do 2 rounds of flapping.

On 17th of January,Saturday.Our school npcc,girl guides,red cross and some other students from monfort and hougang secondary school when to the people association,for the briefing for the Chingay parade.

We all had a great time.We had ice-breaker games to get to know our leaders and other students from Xin Min,Monfort and Pei Cai secondary schools.

It was a great bonding time for all of us.We were all motivators for the Chingay parade.It was great because we got to meet people of all ages and races.Our leaders were friendly and ethusiatic.We did many cheers such as:

On the day itself we will be doing hand puppetry.I have never done hand puppetry before and it's my first time to do it.I feel exciting and scared at the same time.

17 January 2009 , we went to People Association for Chingay 2009 briefing . On the arrival , we were separated into groups . We learnt cheers , introduced ourselves before we started the activities . After a briefing by the People association person in charge , each groups are given scenarios that will be a possible to happen on the day of the event .Example : An audience is climbing over the barricades as he wanted to take pictures with the performers how would you react ? One of our group members , Siew Chin was asked to showed how to react to that scene . After the scenarios were given finished , we went back to the auditorium to learnt a new cheer which was lead by our group leader , Ivor . Every people there were very high at that point of time as we were told that we are to motivate audience on that day , after that , we have another briefing by the chief Motivator , in that briefing we were told which area we are suppose to motivate . After the briefing , it is time to go back , we fall in and boarded the bus and headed back to school .

On 16 January 2009, I have my NPCC training. We were told to fall-in at 2.15pm wearing PT kit. That day was the sec 1s first training with us. After taking our attendance, there were a total of 19 sec 3s. We start off our training having drills. It is to warm up and to brush up our coordination. As expected, we didn't do so well at first. However, it gets better after awhile. After warming up, we have our baton drills. Some of my squadmates don't know how to do as they had now been coming for training for a long time due to some reasons. We then recap all about baton drills. We practised our sedia, senang diri, hormat and a lot more. We took around two hours plus to practise as practise makes perfect. Around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, we started to learn rifle drill. This was the first time holding a rifle and everyone was so excited and nervous. It doesn't feel so heavy but is more heavy than a baton. We start learning the basic and soon my ma'am and sir wanted us to flip the rifle. All of us were so scared. First, we have no confidence. Second, if we drop the rifle, we have to do 50 push-ups. Third, it cost $80 if we broke it. It took us a very long time to do it. Not long, one of my squadmates dropped it. So 50 push-ups we owe our sir and ma'am. Soon it was time to have PT so we stopped practising. PT is what I have longed for as I think I had gained weight since the holidays started. I got so hyper that I enjoyed my PT. We then returned what we own to our sir and ma'am. Then, we had our briefing and we all went home, tiring.

On Friday, 16-01-09, we, the sec 2s learnt how to do shear lashing, round lashing and know what are these lashings use for. The sec 1 had games on their first training.

First, we divided into three groups. Alvin sir teaches my group and my group was the fastest to learn the lashings. After a while, Alan sir came and wants us to challenge among ourselves. Valarie was the fastest to do lashing among my group; all the girls in my group do faster than boys.

Finally, left Ivan, Cody and myself, we want to see which is the last person to finish the lashing. I was the fastest among the three of us, followed by Cody and Ivan. At 4.20pm, we assembled near NPCC room. We were doing physical training with the whole unit. After that, we have a debrief from Ms Seow.

I wish every training will be like today so it will not be an exhausted day. But I know that it is impossible because in order to maintain our overall gold unit award we must train harder.

It was a very nice morning. I was a bit excited when I was going to the 1star kayaking course. I thought that it will be easy as I heard from other people, but everything I thought was wrong. The coach was strict, fierce and he wants everything to be nice and good. We had lots of scolding at first, but after that, things started to get better. There were four people joining our class on the first training and I manage to know one of them. The coach was strict to us during the first training. The next training, he was not as strict as we started to get better. The second training was even more tired than the first training as we kayak a very long distance. My arms were in pain due to the long distance and it was better when we get to the shore. It was very fun in the second training although it was very tiring. I hope that the time will go back and to have the same fun again.

On Friday, 9.1.09, it was the sec1 CCA orientation camp, and we were divided into 4groups to help out. There were campcraft group, games group, drills group and advertising group. I was in the advertising group.

Phyllis, Priya, Eunice and Lishan were with me in the advertising group too, and Weijing was our group in-charge. In advertising group, all we need to do is to prepare the gifts for the sec 1s and present our NPCC to them. The gifts were prepared the day before Friday, and it was a small laminated card with a small holder writing NPCC on it. Then, on Friday, after school’s dismissal, we, the advertising group fall-in at 1.45pm in PT kit. After reporting, we took our present board to the commerce room and then, arrange the tables and trophies.

After arranging, we took a rest for awhile and then, the sec 1s came. After the sec 1s settled down, sitting in front of us, Phyllis start presenting first, then, next, goes by Priya, then me, then after that Eunice then, Lishan. When I was presenting, at that point of time, I was so shy and my confidence was so low, as I was presenting, my cheeks was so red and burning hot, and hoping that I will present finish as soon as possible. But after a few rounds of presenting, my confidence grew and I was not shy as before.

Then, after presenting finished, I, Priya, Phyllis, Eunice and Lishan went out to join the drills group in doing drills. Although doing drills with our squad mates were tired, but I really do had fun! After the drills, we have a photo taking section with those police and the police car which Mr Peh invited them to sgs. Then, after that we have a short briefing from Ms Seow then, the CLs dismissed us.

Although, on that day was a exhausted day, but not only I have lots of fun, I also gain a lot of experience too!

On 9 January 2009,it was the CCA OpenHouse.Most of the CCAs in Serangoon Garden Secondary School were showcasing their own CCAs as the secondary 1s are in their Secondary 1 Orientation Camp. One part of their Orientation Camp was to walk around the school to see different CCAs in the school.

My CCA(NPCC) decided to show the Secondary 1 some of the basic campcraft, display,drills and games.Some Secondary 3 and Secondary 2 formed the campcraft team. They had build up a shelter that was set up during Campcraft Competition. They also set up the flagpole with the NPCC flag hung on it which is used to set up during the campcraft competition at the Home Team Academy(HTA).There were a drills section whihc consist half of our NPCC Unit Cadets in it. The Contingent was taken by one of our School Cadet Inspector

Next,we had a shooting section. It had 3 booth so that all the Secondary 1s had a chance to shoot. Although it is just a toy gun, it still requires a lot of determination to shoot down the target.

Lastly, it is the display section.We had a small group of cadets explaining to the Secondary 1s about what the cadets do in NPCC.We had Camps, Field Cooking, Overseas Trips and had a talk about NPCC's History. Two of my squadmates showed the Secondary 1s the weapons we used for training. I was showing to the Secondary 1s our Full-U Uniform together with my squadmate, Gina Peh, who is showing the female version of the Full-U and two other seniors wearing the First-U.There was a showcase of the badges and ranks in NPCC.

Although the training was short, but it was a fun and interesting training as it was more interesting then what I had seen when I am a Secondary 1 Student.

It was 9th of January and Sec1s had their orientation where we need to show them the things we did in and the attires for Npcc. Around 12.45pm,we fall in with our pt kit and were later told to change into our full-u.

Desmond and I were told to go the commerce room to get ourselves prepared; we placed the badges and ranks on the tables for display. Not long after, the first sec1 class came, we were told not to fidget or smile till they left the room as we were wearing our full-u.

After all the sec1s had came, we were told to fall in near the commerce room. We did some drills together followed by taking photos with the police car. After a while, those wearing full-u were told to change into pt kit.

We had debrief by Ms Seow and were being dismissed. I hope the sec1s will enjoyed what all of us had showed them and in fact I’m looking forward to see the sec1s coming for Npcc during the next training.

On Friday, we have the secondary 1 classes to come and see what is npcc like and about. We have game and awards for them to see and play with. I am in the shooting group. Shooting is the game we let them try. We also have marshmallow with chocolate for them to try. We also prepare gift for them too. At first everyone was at the shooting station. The secondary 1 students are quite playful and they are curious. Some even mess up that we are NCC. But the secondary 2 and 3 told them that they are at the NPCC station. There are quite a lot of secondary 1 wants to join npcc too. I hope that they really join instead of just saying in front of us. Friday is also very fun too.

On the 9th of January, we had our UGs open house. My CCA was NPCC so that day we had our NPCC open house, there is a total of 8 sec 1 classes and our TOs and OIC wanted to have most of the sec 1 who joined the UGs to join us NPCC. Our program splits into different parts, which are campcrafts, games, display and drills.

I was in the drills department, so that day we fall-in at 12.45pm and we had our full uniform checked for those who need to wear full uniform. Those in campcrafts went to do their preparation jobs. So after we had our uniform checked, we set off for our own drills rehearsal and there were 3 sec 3 in the drills department including me, we would be using baton for sec 3 while the sec 2 would be doing the foot drills for the sec 1 to watch.

As we were doing our drills at outdoors and it was during the mid afternoon, the sun was scotching hot and adding on we were wearing full U so the heat was even more unbearable, but we sec 2s and 3s and our squad commander Zhe Ming sir endured the whole CCA open house.

When the first class came, we did not have the chance to show them our drills as there was a lack of time. So we started off with the second class that came to watch our showcase of our NPCC basic foot drills and baton drills. We had our first round of the drills and we were all very nervous, we made some small mistakes, but our CI Alan sir said that it was the first round so we would surely be very nervous as he said that when last time he was also a sec 2, he was also very nervous. So he called us to relax a bit but not too relax till you forget what you had to do.

I was the timer for the drills and had to keep shouting for all the drills timing which was tough as I was not used to be a timer, but slowly I was able to get a hang of it during the rehearsal. Alan sir also suggested that I could shout more loudly, clearly and more confidently as that few things was the things that I had to improve on. After around 2 classes had come and goes, Zhe Ming sir said that we would also add pledge taking into our program, which means we would alternately do drills or pledge taking. This means after each class we would change our program, for the next class we would be doing drills, then after that we would be doing pledge taking.

So after the CCA open house ended, we had our briefing with our TO Ms seow, she briefly told us our overall performance and told the sec 4 which area we could improve on, with that we had come to an end for that day for NPCC.

On the 9 of january, This friday is a exciting day we have been looking forward too, it is the sec1 orientation :D.We fall in at 12.45pm outside npcc room in pt kit, but later we was told to change to full u.
After changing back to full u we greeted all the sir & mdm, and we started to practice the drills that we have practice hard in others two days. Everyone is qutie nervous as this is the first time we sort of performing drills to showcase to the sec1. We carry our water bottle and march off to the school bridge there and we put down our water bottle at another side and fall in quickly.
As we still have sometime to spare with, we practice again to make sure, we make it a prefect drills. Everyone tried our best to not make mistake, and finally the first batch of sec1 class had came. We all stand still in our position but the first batch of sec1 classes do not see our drills & went off due to not enough time. Everyone is sort of disappointing but our sir told us some sort of cheering up us, say that sure got someone will watch us performing the drills.
After water break and awhile more, the next sec1 class came, we immediately prepare ourselves & listen carefully to zhe ming sir's commands. Firstly the commands is for baton drills which is only sec3 doing it. After that is we (sec1&sec3) doing the basic drills. After doing it,we wait till sec1 left and then sir told us that our performance is not up to the standard yet still can be improved. As this is the first starting performanceso he know that we will nervous. So upon hearing this, we promise ourselves to perform well in the next performance.
Then we went off for another water break again,as weather is qutie hot. Nobody wants a heat stroke too. Then we repeated doing the same drills again. As Sir said some class perform drills some class perform the npcc pledge taking (:As like that we wont be so tired,to keep doing drills. But most of us prefer drills better, as drills is much more fun.
And time passes very fast,we going to perform the drills for the last 2 classes (: We had to thanks zhe ming & alan sir too for training us those few days.
Later on we march almost everyone together, sec2 ,sec3 ,sec,4 & those sirs & mdms too.It is really is great fun marching together with everyone. :D And we have a photo taking with the police car and then we march for awhile and went back to npcc room. We have learnt a new drills which is the 14steps one.
Later one, we went to change our full u to pt kit and take our valuables and we stay back for awhile as alan sir and alvin sir had something to tell us.

First Training of the Year 2009

On 2nd of january , We had our first training on the year 2009. Our training was tougher this time as we are already sec 2 now. Our training was not as linient as before , so we have to be more serious and buck up for everything. We had to fall in at 1.30pm in our full-u. After we fall in , 2 new CI were introduced to us and they are Jianwei sir and Nadzirah mdm. After greeting the CI's, we started our training.

Nadzirah mdm and Alan sir took us for training. We recap our basic drills that we had learned during sec 1. At first , the drills we did were not so good. Then , Nadzirah mdm told us that we had to improve on our drills. So we did the drills all over again. We did a little bit better this time but not up to the expectation they wanted from us. After that we had a five minute break , then we went back to training. Then Nadzirah mdm teach us a new drill called 'maju'. She told us that 'maju' was use to walk front when marching on the spot. We were split into 2 groups when we were practising. Nadzirah mdm took my group. We keep praticing the drill until we were familiar with the drill. After that, we were told to change into P.T kit and we were given 8 minutes to do so. After changing into P.T kit, we fall in at the toughroad. 5 of our squadmates volunteered to help us put our bags into the npcc room. After our bags were put, we were told to go the classroom at level two to have our personal particular check. After the checking is done, we went to the amphi-theatre to discuss about the sec 1 orientation.

Jian Yew sir explained to us about the orientation thing. We have a choice of exhibition,display, campcraft and drills. After thinking, I select my choice for the drills. Me and my squadmates went to Zheming sir, who was incharge of the drills. He told us that we had to pratice the drill. We all had to meet on tuesday and wednesday for our pratice. After everyone had discuss finish, we had our briefing.

After our brefing, we took our bags and went home. It was a tiring day for my squad but still, we had to improve on our drills. Hope we can meet up to the expectations which our CL wants.

This year annual camp falls on the 23 November till 25 November 2008. It is the first annual camp I had attended and the first camp I went that was held at a resort. On the first day of the camp we did not straight away went to aloha Changi resort instead we went to the serangoon community club to attend a balloon sculpturing workshop which was conducted by Mr. Peh and two guest which joined us. He taught us how to do balloon dog, flower, teddy bear and more. After we were done on the workshop, we headed back to school which we were later divided into four groups. I, Li Cheng, Kailin, Afifah, Dheyanah, Shona mdm, Ivy mdm, Hong Kai, Ron, Ming Zhou sir and Wei Xiang sir is in group 4, Ninjas! After we were divided into four groups, we went for field cooking. Our food was canned food, rice and Maggie. Then we headed off to the resort with 2 groups in each bus. When we reach we went into our bunks. Boys in block A and girls in block D. Group 1 and 2 at the second floor and group 3 and 4 at the first floor.

After we settled, we were supposed to bring our bathing stuff but cancelled as it was raining. We went to group 1 and 2 girls bunk to play games at the balcony. We played human entanglement, maomao, something like wacko etc. When we told Jerry mdm that our group name was Ninja, she said it was taken and Shona mdm fought for the name and we got it!!! After the games, group 1 and 2 eat first and group 3 and 4 bathe. The queue was so long that I had to bathe with Kai Lin and we were the last one! Well, never mind. We had dinner but I could not finish it, too full I guess. We waited for Shona mdm to eat and at the same time chit chat. When time was up, we went to fall in and report and we dispersed for own practicing for the performance. We finished early so we played some games. 1 hour was up and free time. We chit chat for awhile and went to our bunks before lights out. Even though lights out, we were still laughing here and there. So we kind of slept late.

Some of us woke up at 6 to bathe. It was so good. We fall in at 7.35 and had pt. Then we went to our groups to have breakfast. We had bread and kaya. After having breakfast we did some preparation as we were going to changi beach. When we reach there, the first game we played was foostball. Group 1 and 2 was the first to go then came ours. It was so tiring as I was in the middle. We lost that round and then winner against winner. Then when we played against the losing team, we won. Yay, Ninjas!!! After the game, the boys went back to the chalet while the girls kept on playing. We played beach volleyball and monkey. While they were playing monkey they tried to sabo Shereen mdm. When going back to the chalet, Abigail fell down and Ginna tripped over and fall and Valerie slipped and fall. When we reach, we saw the boys, TOs and CIs were playing tug-of-war. After the game we had lunch and then played games like I sketch, musical steps etc. My group did not do that well for that but we manage to get 55 points for the Scavenger Hunt. All the points were for the war game. I was the commander so I must not get wet. We won to group 3. Thanks to Shereen mdm but lost to group 1. After the game we had a bath and then preparation for the performance for sec 4s. After the preparation we had dinner which is buffet. They ate lots of mango pudding that we even created a tower by stacking them on top of each other! After dinner we had the performance. The sec 1s prepared a song and skit. Sec 2s dance, then sec 2s and 3s performed a Graduation song. The sec 4s also performed a skit. We had a dress up game to be a warrior. At the end they brought in a cake for the sec 4s and then Shereen mdm showed them a clip she made. After the video, we went to Changi airport, terminal 3 to have an amazing race. We had a lot of clues there and the Ninjas made it first place! After we finished, we had one wrong answer and was given one-two min to find out. Ivy and Shona mdm ran and luckily they were on time. We had a bonus question but did not get it because two of them were wrong. So we waited at a corner to wait for the other groups. After all the groups arrived, we had a debrief and then went back. They passed around the cake and then we went to settle down for lights out.

We did not get to bathe the next morning as there was no time, so we just change and fall in. We had the same breakfast, bread and kaya but also with cake. After breakfast, sir told us that there was a tie between group 3 and 1 so they had to play tug-of –war. Group 3 wins which made them second and group 1 third. After the game we put all our belongings outside to get ready for area cleaning. We had a prize presentation after that. We could not believe that we got first! Applause to Ninjas! Then there were prizes given to other awards too. After receiving the awards we went back to school, put back some things, had a short debrief and went home. It was a fun camp I had. :D :D :D

On the 15th Nov 2008, a group of 35 students went for a hand puppetry workshop. The group consists of not only Serangoon Garden Sec NPCC Cadets; our friends from Hougang Secondary school, North Vista Secondary school as well as Montfort Sec also join us for the course.

The purpose of the workshop is to teach us how to make a puppet and it will be used by us, the motivator to motivate the audience. Through the workshop, I learn how to make a puppet and also how to motivate the people using our hand using our puppet.

I have enjoyed the workshop and it's really very fun!

On the 15th of November 2008, we went to People Association for Hand Puppetry Workshop. Those who went to the workshop will be going to Chingay on 30th and 31st of January to be a motivator. Some of the boys from Montfort Secondary School went with us too. We fall in in school at about 1pm and waited for the bus to come.

When we reached there, we found places to sit down and the tables was filled with socks and other decorations. We were told that Mediacorp was there to film us. The instructor introduced himself and taught us the procedures of making a puppet, some aunties were also helping out. The camera was filming us while we were making our puppets. The instructor showed us some puppets that he made to give us some inspirations for making our puppets. Everyone was busy making their puppets and they came out with many different cute puppets. :D

After making them, we were told to face the mirror at the back of the room, standing in a straight line. We were thinking of a name for our puppet and also told to communicate with the people by using our puppets. The instructor said that we need to project our voice while communicating and he also showed us many different moves using his fingers to express what he wanted to say.

I find this Hand Puppetry Workshop very meaningful and interesting, as I am looking forward to the 30th and 31st of January.

First day of kayaking course was mostly about basics of kayaking, for example classifying the parts of the boat and paddle. We had to put on our PDF(Personal Floatation Device) and never remove it. Kayaking is fun but continuously paddling is really tiring. We covered up on basic paddling, capsize and did a little bit of swimming. After the end of kayaking, we had to rinse the boat, paddle and PDF so that it is clean for the next use.

The next day, we came for the course with our aching body. On the second day, we learned capsize-rescue, J-draw and bicycle-draw, and had our test. For my group, we had to kayak from shore to the Singapore Flyer and kayak back. Despite getting a terrible sunburn, kayaking was a splendid experience. I manage to overcome my fear of swimming, with the support from my friends, coaches and teacher, Miss Seow. Thus at the same time, I developed more on endurance and courage.

Although it was a Tamil Boys Home, I had a fun day there. Not only SGSS NPCC went there to do CIP. Some of the Punggol Community Centre members volunteer themselves to help out. Our purpose to help is we want to show them without their parently love and also a lot of people outside still loves them. Our NPCC Unit OC arranged two magician to perform magic. One is perform Cards and the other one is perform something like magnetic and hypnosis. The boy enjoyed it very much. The card magician is Tommy and the other is Nawi. I like the magician that was shown by Tommy. His magic was really very interesting. Firstly, he was performing cards and he did move the four angel which is at each corner around. It was really cool. Before the two magician perform in front of the boys, they warm up by performing to us. The magician, Tommy, said that he need a female volunteer so the whole squad asked me to volunteer myself. I had no choice. He asked me to sign on a card and slot into a deck of cards. After that, he shuffle the deck and when he open the card by the background of the deck facing upwards and only the card which has my signature on was facing downwards. We couldn't believe with our own eyes. Their performance was really cool and great. After their performance, it's our turn to perform. We performed a Multi-Racial Dance. There are four segments in this dance. We have a western modern dance, a graceful chinese pieces, a malay dance and lastly an Indian Dance. After everything, the people over there even prepared some food for us. Their food was really delicious. After we had our meal there, we had a group photo outside their hostel. If there's chances for us to go again, I'm sure that I'm the first to volunteer because I want to eat their food again! :D

On 8th of november, we were supposed to go to the boys home. I carried a exicting feeling to school as this is the first time we are going to the boys home.After falling in, we pratice the multi-racial dance until Mr Peh came. When Mr Peh came, we all greeted him and we had a short debrief before we board the bus.We were supposed to recieved 18 people form the punggol community club before procceding to the boys home.

After reaching the boys home, we are to take out our shoes and fall in. After doing that, we were told to sit down as we had to wait for Mr Peh to teach the boysinside ballon twisting before we could go in. While waiting, one of the magician performed hand magic. He called me and Hongkai to help mi turn his hand and massage his arms too.What was scary that he turn his hand 360 degress! I was shocked! But to our unexpectation, he could managed to turn his hand back! I wish that I could learn!Another magician, which I forgot his name, performed card magic tricks. He asked who thinks that she is pretty or what, than Serene went up. He show us that all cards of the backare red. Then he asked Serene to pick a card and signed on it. Amazingly, he turned the red card into a blue card! And also, it has Serene signature on it! He also did anothermagic trick. What he does is that he could make all the 4 angels on all side to one side! He also could make bicycle for them and also, he could removed the bicycle also!If I have the chance, I really would want to learn! [=

When Mr Peh was done, it was the magician turn. We also went in to watch how they perform. The magicians performed hypnotism. What he did was that he could use only 2 dollarsto go around the world! The magician and the boy went to countries like brazil, egypt, malaysia and singapore and alot more! He also performed magnetic attraction.He could use just one finger to hold the stick! It was amazing! After the magician, it was the other magician turn to show magic. Also, he did magics that are related to cardsexpect the last one. He put one of the needles into the cup and asked a boy to help him turn. If he is unluckly, the needle might poke into his hand and die. Unexpected,he did not smashed the one with the needles. Scary. After the magicians, it was our turn to perform. We danced the multi-racial dance. After the dance, we had our foodand drinks. We also managed to finish the noodles. After everything, we went outside and took a group photo. After everything was finished, we were dismissed.

I had a tiring but fun day. I wish that we could have this type of activity again. :D

On the 8th of November, we are going to the boys home. AT the beginning i was feeling bored but when we reach i felt that it is fun and meaningful.

After we reach the school and fall in we pratice the dance till Mr Peh came, we greeted him and board onto the bus.We were going to the punggol community club to pick up 18 kind people who were going to the boys home too before going to the boys home.

After reaching the boys home we were told to sat down till Mr Peh finish teaching his ballon twisting.while we were waiting, both magician performed some magics for us i was very happy to see a magic infront of me.one of they turn his hand 360 degress!! and turn back i was shocked,i wish i could learn!. another magician performed card magic where he turn a red card with serene signature to a blue card the most amazing thing is the card still has serene's signature on it!!!hope someday i can also be some good in magic like them!!!, than after some more magics Mr peh had already finish his teaching we went in and sat down to watch the magician performed their magic for the boys they were fantastic.

After their performed it is our turn we dance for them the dance and i am happy as they love it,we went to eat after all the performed we managed to finish every thing after food, we went outside and took a group photo before going back to school.i have a nice and tiring day, hope that we can still have outdoor activity like that which is fun and meaningful.hope the boys have fun too!!!

On 8th Nov, we went to Ramakrishna mission boys’ home to perform the multi-racial harmony dance. We picked up the dance during the record’s challenge game show. The dance is very meaningful as it brings out the culture of the four different races in Singapore. Mr. Peh taught the orphans balloon twisting and two magicians were also invited to perform for the orphans. We were the last to perform. When it was our turn to perform, I was a little nervous but when I know I was going to stand at the back while we were performing, I wasn’t that nervous anymore. During the dance, I realized that the kids don’t really seem that they’re enjoying themselves. I infer that they find our dance quite boring. I hope we can come up with something more exciting or interesting to entertain the audience in our future visits.

On the 8th of November 2008, we went to Mission Boys' Home. We went to school at 2pm. We practiced the Multi Racial Dance that we are going to perform in the Boys' Home. After practicing, we had a briefing from Mr Peh before going up the bus. Firstly, we went to Punggol Community Club to pick up the 18 community club members that are going with us to the Boy's Home. After that, we proceeded to the Boy's Home.

We were told to take off our shoes before we went in. So, we took off our shoes and fall in our shoes. After that we went to take a sit at a room. The magicians take turns to perform magic for us to see while waiting for Mr Peh to finish teaching those boys Balloon Twisting. A malay magician name Nawi performed for us Hypnotism and 1 more magic which is like stretching of hands. He called 2 guys, which is Hongkai and Ivan to kneel beside him. He called them both to take turns to massage his arms, and called them both to turn his hand, 395 degrees. It is really scary. Then he hit his hand and his hand seems to broke. But miraclely, he managed to fix his hand back into one piece. It is really interesting.

The other magician, Tommy. He did magic on cards. He asked the girls who think themself is pretty or what, then serene went up to his side. Then, he asked Serene to pick a card which she like. After that, she sign her signature there. And later, the red deck card becomes a blue deck card, and it had Serene's signature on it! The other magic on card that he performed he did was, moving the angels. Every single card had 4 angels at each corner, he made the 4 angels all to one particular side! It was very shocking. And he said that angels had wings, so he removed the bicycle on the card. I wonder how he do it. I want to learn it too! :)

After that, it was the magician's turn after Mr Peh. So, we went into the room which the boys are in too. The malay magician performed first. He performed hypnotism first. After that, he managed to bring a boy to many place such as, brazil, phillipines, egypt, malaysia, singapore, and many more with just 2 dollars! And they came back with 1 dollar. It is amazing. He also performed magnetic attraction. He can hold the stick with just 1 finger. After his turn, was the other magician performance. He did the same thing, which is all about cards, except for the last magic he did. He put a cardboard and a needle in a cup. He asked a boy to shuffle it. And he smashed the cups. Miraculously, of the 4 cups, he did not smashed on the one with the needle. It is really cool and interesting. After those magic, it is our turn to perform the Multi Racial Dance. The space there is very cram, so, we could not really do it that well. After everything, we had some refreshment, noodles and stuffs cooked by the members of the Punggol Community Club. It is really nice to be there. After the whole programme, we proceeded outside to take a group photo. And we went back to school and was dismissed.

It is a fun and interesting day to the boy's home on 8th of november. I hope to be there again, as the people there are friendly.

On 28th October my squad mates and I accompanied by Miss Seow & two of our Cls went for our Civil Defence course. We were told to be in school by 7.45 a.m. After we had arrived we were brought to Yishun where the Civil Defence post was. First we had a lecture and demo about CPR. We learnt that CPR actually meant Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. We also found out that the most common causes of sudden deaths are drowning, electric shocks, cardiac arrest (heart attack), sensitivity reaction, asphyxiation and drug reactions. After that we had a lecture about first aid. First aid is actually the first treatment given to casualty. We also learnt about the different types of wounds. Finally, we had a lecture on fire safety. Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. There are 3 methods to extinguish fire and they are cooling, smothering and starvation. After the fire safety lecture we had a practical on how to extinguish fire and after that we all went home. This trip was very helpful and useful.

On the 5th of September 2008, all NPCC cadets in our unit have an aikido test from 10am to 12pm. If we pass the test, we would be given a certificate and either an orange or yellow belt, depending on our results. The orange belt is more senior than the yellow belt. Sec 1s cadets were to go first.

With the instructor’s help, they practiced the 3 different techniques of aikido and the test began. Among all the 3 different techniques, I personally prefer the 3rd one, which is used when you are being attacked from the head. To me, it is also known as the chop method. It is easy to do and easy to learn.

After the Sec 1s and Sec 2s had taken their test, Sec 3s were the next. I had my aikido test taken with one of my squadmates, Weijing. Kumaran had the test with Sylvester, Zheming with Jianyew and Weixiang with Ferronne. Soon, each and everyone of us had completed the test.

While one of the instructor accumulate the marks, deciding which belt should be given, another instructor demonstrated other techniques. We were to practice after every technique our instructor had demonstrated. After a while, our results were out. The instructors told us that there were only 7 orange belts to be given out.

One by one, names were called out and soon, it’s my turn. Feeling excited, I went up to get my certificate and surprising, I was given an orange belt. Of course, I was feeling happy, contented and super surprised. After everyone’s certificate is given out, we thanked the instructors and had a big family photo. It was a joyous occasion. Besides me, weijing, zheming, siew chin, nadia and serene were also given the orange belt.

Although sometimes the aikido lesson gets a little boring, however, everyone of us had enjoyed all the lessons and had fun. Thank you instructors, we had learnt lots of different techniques.

Seven days of aikido training was really fun as every training was imbued with excitement and laughter.

On every day’s training, it was rather interesting as we learnt how to protect ourselves from our opponent’s movement. Although, as trainings passed, the movements taught by our instructors are getting grueling, our unit is still determined to take the challenge and took the belt and certificate given by the instructors.

On the very last day of training, I tried my best to perform well and impressed the instructors, as that time was the aikido test. But unfortunately, I got a yellow belt like most of the cadets in the unit got. Only eight of the cadets got an orange belt, which is the higher grade than yellow. At that point of time when I was waiting for the result, I was so nervous and confidence was low, as quite a number of cadets did better than me. Although I did not really have the yellow belt, I am also happy and glad that I’ve got a belt and a certificate too.

And also, I do look forward to the next year aikido training if the in-charge do arranged it!

This year npcc Service Day falls on 18 July. Service day is the day which NPCC Cadets go door to door explaining to the public what is Crime Prevention is all about. Before we were send out to our respective neighbourhood block to spread crime prevention message, we had a short briefing. Miss Seow gave us some small Crime Prevention booklets. From the booklet, we can know some of the usual crimes like theft, snatch theft, house breaking, phone scams, robbery in lifts. Soon after briefing, we went out to neighbourhood to spread crime preventive measures. This is a good chance to bond, teach and even learn new things from my juniors and squad mate! I think sec1s will be rather more shy than sec2s and sec3s. But I guess, now they are more confident to talk to public.

Service day is a day that you and me will know more about Crime Prevention. Be Vigilant :D

On 22 August, we had our usual training. At 1.10pm, all of us fall-in in p.t kit and took attendance. At 1.30pm, we went to the place outside bookshop to practice the three aikido steps while waiting for the instructors. The instructors came and they taught us how to roll in a proper way. We also revised the three other aikido steps and we will have aikido test next lesson.

After aikido lesson, we changed into our full-u and fall-in back in a few minutes. However, one of my squadmates never bring his full-u and sir called him to be in push up position until all of us was ready in our full-u. All of us immediately change in full-u in our faster speed so that he would not need to do that position for so long. Almost all of us were ready and were waiting for our sir to let him join back our squad. At first, we should be having master parade but it was raining so it was canceled. We did baton drills instead.

After the drills was debrief. We had early debrief and release on that day. The training that day was quite okay. Attendance was good. Even we got scolding but we will try to improve and would try not to disappoint them and gave empty promises.

On 25 July 2008, I went for my Adventure Training Camp in Pulau Ubin. This is my first time to Pulau Ubin and my first ATC too.

We need to walk for 30 min to reach to our sec 2 campsite with our bags, which was heavy. It trains us to persevere. Some schools has reached there and waiting for the rest of the schools to join them. We made some friends and had some games. There are about 30 cadets in each group. Each group was given 5 packets of instant noodles, can foods, and a few milo packets and biscuits which was to be lasted for our 3 days camp there. We went to build our tentage. Girls are to sleep on top of the hill and we should climb up and down many times. After we had built our tent, we had our dinner and then a debrief.

The next day, we had our morning PT which made me awake. This PT is tough and fun. It train us on our stamina and our perseverance.

In Day 2, we are divided into three groups for our different activity. Our group will be having the low rope challenge.We were then divided into a much more smaller group to go to the dark maze which was complete darkness. When the door closed, we could not see anything at all. We need to use our hand to feel the way out and we need to stay together as a team. We need to listen to the person who is leading which is me.

After that we went to the low rope challenge which test on our balancy. At first, I walked on the rope to the place where we need to jump. I don't dare to climb up until a girl from anderson sec encouraged me. She said "If you never try, how would you know you cannot. Never say to yourself you cannot do this or that. Must give a chance for yourself to try." She encouraged me and keep saying I can make it. Because of the courage she gave me, I climbed up and jumped down. I don't believe that I have made it. All thanks to her. I will remember her word.

We had our basic survival skills next. My leg accidentally stepped on a hole which sprained my ankle. So sad that I could not join my group as I have to let my leg rest. When it was dinner time, I slowly walked to my group and was unlucky to sprain my ankle on the same leg again. After dinner, I slowly walked to Sec 3 campsite for campfire. Miss Seow sent me home which I do not really want. I like it although the camp is tough but no choice I have to leave the place with regret as I did not complete my ATC. I hope I get a chance to complete it.

On 11 June, we had our regular NPCC training. We were to fall-in at 2pm in full uniform, outside NPCC room. Today’s training is very special as the Sec 2s who joined the Sec 1s for training as she just join NPCC this year will be joining the Sec 2s from this training onwards. And Qiao Yi Madam said that we will learn all the drills all over again for the sake of the new Sec 2s.

We have some basic drills before our muster parade. But it start to drizzle before the muster parade, but the TO, Miss Seow, said that we can have the muster parade and this is the first time for me to have muster parade in the rain. The muster parade was short, and after that we have some more basic drills. After the basic drills we were told to change back to our PT kit. After we had changed, we were told to proceed to a classroom for our debrief. Miss Seow briefed us on the Service Day next Friday and the out coming activities for the Sec 2s. After that we were dismissed, and today the Sec 2s were to take their bags first as the Sec 1s were doing their relay system.

On Tuesday, 8th July 2008, my NPCC squadmates and I were being dismissed earlier than the normal school time, as our secondary one NPCC squad have a visit to the K9 Dog Unit.

After eating our lunch, we immediately changed into our full-uniform and get it in a tip-top condition as our sirs or mdms might check them. After that, we rushed into the NPCC room to put our things inside and came out to fall-in outside the NPCC room. Soon, the bus came and commands were being given to us to move to the foyer, where we fall-in at and prepare to board the bus. Wei Xiang Sir and Ms Noreen followed us to the K9 Dog Unit as well.

When we reached the K9 Dog Unit, one of the sirs there brought us to a presentation room. Some schools had already reached the presentation room and were quietly and attentively watching the crime prevention video. After that, a sir led us around the place. Some of the places that we went include rooms where the trainers train their dogs, but we only got to stand outside to look through the window to see the room. They also brought us to see and touch the trained dogs there. The dogs there were so obedient and nice looking. One of the dogs, named Milo, gave me the best impression after the visit because the colour of the dog’s fur was beautiful.

After the visit to the K9 Dog Unit, I have really learnt a lot, for example, how the trainers there train the dogs and how the dogs would respond when they are in the crime scene. I really enjoyed myself today and had a memorable day.

Today, me and my squadmates went to AMK Police Div to have our 0.22 Dry Practice. When we reached there, we settled down and then our OC, Mr Peh, went through with us the paper he gave us about the parts of a revolver, the functions of different parts, and also safety rules when holding on the revolver. After knowing all the important things we should take note, we took turns to practice the shoot as there is only 10 revolvers given. Some of us were still not quite sure of how to use the revolver but we will get to practice again on Thursday. I hope my squadmates had also learnt something new today.

This is my second overseas trip with school. I still felt excited and anxious though. We went to Yinchuan, which environment is not that clean. I also had a taste of the drastic temperature change between the day night. Followed by visiting the Wuhai City, the environment was not that clean too but I tried to make myself to be able to adapt in different environments. I also managed to see sand storm with my own eyes and also understand more about it. After seeing both cities environment, it really reflects me of the environment we are living in Singapore. We also went to two secondary schools for immersion programmes. I tried walking barefooted in the desert. It was tiring but when we reached our destination,the satisfactory is beyond words.

When I reached the Wuhai Police Centre, I was being attracted by its tall buildings. Our Singapore NPC and the Wuhai Police Centre sizes cannot be compared! The NPC in Singapore has only two to three floors whereas the Wuhai Police Centre has a total of six floors. The whole stretch of corridor were their offices. Pistols, their training place and their shooting room were introduced to us. Mr Yen, the officer there, also shared with us the whole Wuhai's streets, it was clear and they can notice crimes easily. There are more video cameras in Wuhai than in Singapore as the country itself is much more bigger than Singapore. GPS is very useful in Singapore and had been using for quite long while in Wuhai, they are still in the process of building. In Wuhai, the police officers had different uniforms for different seasons, while Singapore police officers wore the same uniform. Wuhai police officers also wear different uniform during patrolling and training.

We visited Huaxia Movie City and Western Xia Mausoleums and knew more China's movies and the history of China. I tried the camel ride and jet and both rides were cool and unforgettable.

When this trip ended,many of us including me shed. It was really a memorable trip and it will always stay in my heart.

On 31 May 2008 was the Quest '08 Competition. The Quest '08 was organised by nEbO. This is a race where participants need to complete tasks and challenges as they learn more about Singapore. We were given a maximum of 5 hours to go to all the 7 checkpoints and we must go to the ending point after the time given is up which is at Downtown East even if we have not completed the race yet as there will be prizes given to the first fifteen teams and there will be lucky draws too. The prizes are very attractive so we would not want to miss the chance of winning it. We were also given goodie bags which include discount coupons, food & drinks, magazine and many more. I had a good experience of amazing race.

Sec1 Day @ Hougang Sec

Friday, we had our sec 1 swearing in cum games day. Everyone is very excited at that moment. After all the briefings, we soon set off to Hougang Secondary School. A NCO from Hougang Sec brought us to a class and settled down first. After that, he brought us around the school. He told us where are the stations. After that, permissions given to refill our water bottle to the brim. We went to the 2nd floor of the school to refill our water at the water cooler. After that, we were brought to the hall. We had our sec 1 swearing in ceremony. After the swearing in ceremony, we started our games day. There are many stations. Schools of Xinmin Sec, Hougang Sec, Bowen Sec, Peicai Sec, Serangoon Garden Sec, Monfort Sec and Anderson Sec. Everybody took part at least 1 game. Soon, instructions were given to go to the stations that start first. While the rest are playing, those that is not their turn to play, sat in the hall. Waiting for our turn. After that, the last game was the 3-legged race by Monfort Sec. The game requires 20 person to take part and pair with another person. They started the game after the briefings and all. We all cheered for one another. The game ended and we went back to the school hall for the prize giving ceremony. Unfortunately, we did not get in the first place. We lost to Bowen Sec. We are in the 2nd position and we were tied with monfort sec. Our squadmates are all very disappointed. Although we tried our very best. I felt very sorry to the sec 2s that they won the trophy back and we lost it to Bowen Sec. But overall, we have gained team spirit. It is really a very fun and happy day on 16 May 2008.

Today, 20 May 2008, me, my squadmates, Ms Seow and a few students from Mongolia Environmental Champions visited to Serangoon NPC. We watched an interesting video about a prisoner's life. It wasn't a very long video but we did enjoy it. Next, we get to know about the police's equipments. What we have learnt is the handcuff, T baton, revolver and a shield. We were taught on how to use those equipments and when to use it. It was my first time to have a chance to touch it and try to feel how painful it is. I am also looking forward on how the police do their job or tasks. We then headed to a carpark and get to sit in the police car. It was really very exciting. We get to see what is in the police car and a lot more. Although it was a short trip, we had a lot of fun and we gained new knowledge too. I am looking forward for such visits to come soon.

Today was the last day training for my squad and I.
All of us were hyper today. We do not wish to step down of NPCC.
In our 4 years in NPCC, we learnt lots of things either from our seniors, C.Is or Officers. All things that we learnt can use in our daily life. We learnt to be more responsible and have more teamwork in our squad. We has gone through all kinds of situations in NPCC. We, as a squad go through together. We did not leave anyone behind.
We do our best in all things n give the best that we can. Sometimes, we do make some disappointment. Everyone do make mistake.

Juniors. Do learn all things from your senior and pass down to next generation.

Sec3s. After today, you all will be taking over the unit. Do your best n give your best. Do everything as a squad and go as 1.

Shereen ma'am. Thanks for teaching us for the past 4 years. Although we did make you angry and sad for some reasons, but I'm very happy that you did not give up on my squad.
Let's pass out together at the end of this year & let's cry together as a squad during our Passing-Out-Parade.

Two weeks ago, a few of my squadmates, myself and our OC, Mr Peh, went patrolling around the neighbourhood. Before patrolling, it started to rain and we thought it would be canceled but luckily it stopped raining. Then we received a call from OC and was told to change to our full uniform and get ready. We set off at about 2.45pm with two real life policemen. Although the patrolling was shorter than I expected, I have learnt a lot of things from it. We know how the policemen distributed their work during patrolling. We also know how to suspect someone who was underage smoking and how to check people's belongings if they were suspected to posses illegal items like cigarettes. Although the people we saw were from our school, we also saw the policemen chasing after someone. After that we went back to the school to take our photos together. We have our Q&A section after that. We asked questions like how heavy was the equipments they were carrying and how to defend themselves when in danger. We suggested that the Sec1s should join us and to increase the number of people going patrolling. Mr Peh said he will consider it. He also invited us to join him for the next patrolling. I was happy that I can go patrolling again with my squad mates and OC.

The first and second training of the NPCC Annual Parade 2008 was very relax but not for long when at the third training we get to know that we are the gold unit and need to go and take rifle instead of baton. In total we have around 12 training before the actual parade, the training was fun but it was very tedious because the CIs there are strict and they ask for only the best to stay in the contingent for the parade.
The rifle was oily and heavy, plus I have not learn any rifle drills because I am sec2 only, so when I do the rifle drills I keep making mistakes, but the CIs slowly teach me how to properly use it. Then the CIs teach us the parts of the rifle and call us be careful when handling it.
When at training 9 the CIs call us put on the knife for our rifle, that’s when I was shocked as I cannot believe we are doing rifle drills with the bayonet on the rifle, at first it was pretty hard as some of my contingents people was being cut or being poke by it, but slowly I start to get a hang of it. As the CIs teach us that whatever we do must have confidence or u will never be able to conquer it.
After those hardships, the preview finally came and I am very excited as I am going to wear the number 1 Uniform to the parade! Before we have the actual preview, we have a few rehearsal and then finally the CIs called us to go and change into our number 1 uniform. Just before the preview start, we wear our first uniform and rehearsal once more and the commander was pretty good with it and we started our preview. When the preview ends, our CIs call us to give ourselves a big clap as we have done well.
Finally the actual parade came and all of us were very happy as our principle, teachers and friends will be coming to support us and our principle came to take the gold award 2007!
The actual parade was very tiring as we have to stand there frozen for 30minutes to 45 minutes and also doing some rifle drills. During the whole parade no one faint and we did really well, as last when I hear the commander ask for the march past I am so happy as the parade was finally going to over and we could finally take pictures with our principle.
During the march past all of us were very proud and happy as the parade will now end.

School dismissed at 11.10am today due to speech day. We all went outside NPCC room to fall in .Our feelings that time is very happy. The reason why is because we are going to get our full-u today! We fall in outside NPCC room and wait for instructions. We greeted the sirs and mdms first. After that, Gordon sir told us to go to E02-01 and fall in outside the classroom. We all went there and we fall in outside the classroom before we went in. Permission were given to go in to the classroom to settle down and get our uniforms. After everyone have gotten their uniform, instructions were given to open up the thing and check whether if we have taken the wrong sizes or have extra beret or etc inside. After we have checked, for the girl's side, some mdms taught as how to put the buttons for the uniform .They taught us how to poke the hole for the beret and how high the crest must be put for the beret .For the shoe lace, everyone know how to tie the shoe laces so there was no need for explanation. For the guy's side, i only know that they are taught how to tie the shoe laces for their boots. After that, a sir came and distribute the school formation and we need to sew it up ourself. After that, Jerry mdm told us where we should sew it. After teaching us what to do with those things, we are dismissed and we went home with a big smile on our face. Everyone was in a high mode.

SPEECH DAY PARADE

After much of training of Speech Day, the day had finally arrived.
As I am the First Parade Commander of this parade, I felt proud to take this and happy to take this parade before my squad and I step-down. And with me, I have a partner, Shona, who is the Second Parade Commander. We have learnt lots of things from our W.C.I Shereen. She thought us lots of new things and even some wonderful formation that can be use in parade. Though we are going to step-down, we still put our best performance and best standard to this parade.

When the emcee announced that the parade will be staring soon, we both Parade Commanders were so anxious that we might shout wrong commands or do wrong drills. But we gave each other confidence and we started the parade. I felt so happy and proud when I'm marching out and salute the Second Parade Commander. Soon, I gave commands and asked Guard-Of-Honour Contingent to march out to parade. After all things that should be done, the Guest-Of-Honour arrived. I'm feel so glad to see her as she is very friendly and understanding. While inspection, she told me she was once in NPCC too. In her secondary school life, she also took and parade and was a Station Inspector too. She asked quite a number of questions and she felt very happy to know that our SGS-NPCC gotten 2 years of GOLD UNIT. She was smiling away that made me felt that she is a friendly lady and understanding. Soon, I asked permission for the parade to march past and march off. After asking and with her reply, I gave commands and march off. All of us was so happy that the parade had finally ended.

Through this 4 years in NPCC life, this was the first time I took a major parade in school with the rank of Station Inspector. I have to thanks my Officers and Cadet Inspectors for giving me all the chances. And I have to thanks my squadmates for being with me through this 4 years and tolerate all my "rubbish".=D
Hope that the spirit of SGS-NPCC will always be there.
Sec3s, be a good leader in the unit and maintain the standard after we step-down. Teach all you can. Remember our school mission. "LOVE TO LEARN, LEARN TO CARE"!

In this place, no matter where you are, you will sure have something to learn.
"Leaders is not about leading only but they learn while they lead. The day you stop learning will be the day you stop leading."

This is the first camp I ever had in sgs NPCC. I had learnt what is teamwork, and what is right and wrong. Although there are some things that I do not like, I still enjoy the camp. This is what happened in the camp.

Day 1
After we assemble, the NCOs explained the ground rules for the camp. Our first activity was the learning of fancy drills. As I was quite new to the drills, I kept repeating it until I have got the grip of it. Next, we went to the hall and played Icebreaking and tail pulling. After that, we ran to the basketball court to have a master parade. After the master parade and a lot of activities has passed, it is time for wash-up and dinner. We need to do field cooking. We were supposed to cook instant noodles by ourselves. As I was not so good in cooking, the noodles turned out to be tasteless. So me, my friends and our sir add in some things inside. It is time for our magic potion. Mr Peh told us that he had a story behind the magic potion. After telling us about it, we drank and I could taste it like an orange juice. We had supper and then it's time to sleep. As I was quite tired, I fall asleep within a few seconds.

Day 2
I went to have a wash-up after waking up. We assembled at the basketball court and report our strength. As I was the first one, I had to report our strength and I had to do it a few times before I got a grip of it. After we had our breakfast, we fall-in at the amphitheatre to learn fancy drills. We kept repeating and repeating it because we kept doing the same mistakes. Finally, we got it right and it was perfect. We played a game called 'Ding-dong' after that. Straight after the game, we fall-in outside the commerce room and we had to sleep in there as later for campfire, we would feel very tired and sleepy. When the NCOs woke us up, it was time for campfire. After our wash-up and dinner, we then had our campfire. All of us went to the basketball court and assembled there. When the campfire started, we sang a few cheers that we had learnt. It was time for group performance and my group was the first one to perform. A few minutes later, it started to drizzle. Therefore, we headed to the Amphitheatre to continue the programme. When our campfire ended, we had a Night Trail. We were given the first clue to go to our first destination. My group went to a classroom to start our first clue. We were supposed to walk through a tunnel that has only lightsticks. As this game needed a lot of teamwork, we managed to finish within a few minutes. After all the games, we headed back to the Amphitheatre. We were given some time to share our feelings about the camp. After having our wash-up, I used some time to write my reflections. I went to sleep after that.

Day 3
After waking up, we wash-up and had our breakfast. After that, we were given some time to write our reflections. When the time is up, we had a master parade. When the master parade has ended, we were given time to say our reflections. It is lunch time after that. After our lunch, we settled down and Mr Peh talked about the camp. Then, it is time to give out prizes. My group has won the most creative flag and surprisingly, I was chosen as the best male camper! After they dismiss us, I went home straightaway and do all the things which I should do before going to sleep. Before I close my eyes, I think that I would want to have this camp again.

On 8 March, I carried an excited feeling to school. It is because I will be having the NPCC selection camp for sec 1s. The objective of the camp for sec 1s is to instill teamwork, unity and discipline among us. We have a certain amount of rules to obey.

In Day 1, after having a briefing by the camp in-charge, we put our bags in a classroom and started our adventure in the camp. We went to a classroom to have a talk about NPCC. We sat quietly and listen attentively. After the talk, we went to the basketball court to learn fancy drills. We learnt the commands and the correct way to hold a rifle, but we used coloured poles instead. After the fancy drills, we had our dinner and wash-up. We were split into 2 groups in order not to have congestion in the toilet. For our dinner, we had field cooking. I cooked for my group members. We wash-up after that. After we had our dinner, we had the preparation for campfire. We crack our brains to have good ideas and we finally came out with a skid and a cheer. After the preparation, it is bedtime. To my surprise, we have to sleep at the Parade Square, wishing upon the stars before we sleep. Mr Peh interviewed me that night & I straightaway went to sleep after that.

In Day 2, we learnt some drills taught by Jing Jie sir. We had a difficult time to coordinate. We also had Icebreaking games or rather team building games, led by our NCOs. At night, we had our campfire. I was very excited because it was my first time having a campfire in secondary school. Unfortunately, it started to rain. All of us went to the Amphitheatre to have the programme continued. To my surprise, they managed to set up a small fire to build up the atmosphere. We had our Night Trail after that. We need to move in groups. All the girls including myself were scared. We manage to complete the journey. That day was a tiring day for me. We managed to get to sleep only after 12 midnight.

It's the last day of camp. Each group was given a loaf of bread for breakfast. We are to finish the bread within the time given. We played water bombs and we used ponchos to catch and throw the water bombs. This game teaches us to be united. We had our lunch followed by area cleaning and then a debrief. Finally, it's time to go home and I love this camp as I have learnt a lot of things in the camp.

All of us were standing outside the boundary, feeling nervous. All of us could hear the cheering from the supporters to bring up our spirits. The one short horn was heard, mean that one minute equipment check. One minute was up and we waited for the one long horn. Upon hearing the long horn blast, my team dashed into the pitch and took all the equipments that each of them were supposed to take. I took the poncho, very difficult to open and I took a lot of time to open two ponchos. After that, I dashed to tie the lashings as I took a lot of time in opening the ponchos. I was impressed that the flagpole and shelter were raised less than 5 minutes. We finished the building of flagpole, shelter and gadget by 10mins30secs, which left a lot of time for us to check mistakes. The time is up and all of us went fall-in outside the boundary. All of us sat outside the boundary and waited for the judges to judge. I was nervous when the judges were judging.
We went to have our lunch, whereby shereen ma’am will be announcing our results. Sad to say that, both girls and boys teams didn't get into finals & all our mood suddenly change. Everyone was very disappointed and couldn’t believe what they had heard. And I think that all of us dreamed to get into finals.
The trainings that we had made us even bonded than ever. We laughed together, cried together, do things together and suffered together. These would not come back again and I would always treasure them. Whatever the results are, we had done our best and never regret in anything we do. And I never regret in joining Campcraft Team ’08.
And also, I would like to thank the officers/inspectors and my captain, Nadzirah.

The Campcraft Girls Team '08 consists of Nadzirah(Captain), Atikah(Vice Captain), Jerry, Siew Chin, Afifah, Nadia, Ginna, Winnie and myself. All were nervous and excited at the same time. Finally, it was our turn to showcase our hardwork. We were all standing behind the boundary and looking at the ground; going through in our minds what to do next. We had been training for this competition for this competition for about 4 months and gone through much together and now it's time to show it. There was a short horn blast indicating the one minute check. Our captain, Nadzirah, checked all our logistics. Soon, another short horn blast sounded indicating the end of the one minute check. We all waited anxiously for the long horn blast and stared at the equipment each of us were supposed to take. The long awaited long horn blast then sounded and we all rushed forward grabbing our equipment and getting to do what we do best: Campcraft. I ran and grabbed five pegs, two 3.5m manila rope, three 5.5m rope and finally, a black nylon rope. I then ran to where my team mate was, Ginna, and proceeded to untie the two 3.5m manila rope. After untying, Ginna had measured 1m and we tied one round lashing each with the two 3.5m rope. After tying, Ginna proceeded to tie the 3 clove hitch with the three 5.5m manila rope. I rushed to take a 1m twine and then tied the W-knot. I slotted the nylon rope into the loop of the W-knot and made the two ends of the nylon rope levelled. We then carried up the flagpole and while I held the pole, I saw the time was only about 4 mins!! The basha was then brought up a few seconds before the flagpole. We were all surprised as we usually took longer than that. I guess competition brought us the best in us. Me, Atikah and Ginna pulled on the ropes and straightened the flagpole. After doing so, I went to help the rest of them in the shelter, Ginna went to help with the gadget and Atikah went to get the flag. Everything was completed in about 10 mins. We were happy as we could have lots of time to check for mistakes and such. There was then a long horn blast signalling the end of the twelve minutes and we all rushed outside the boundary to fall-in. The judges started to walk around. We were asked to sit down by the Lot IC. A judge came and asked about the gadget and another came to ask about the shelter. We were all perspiring by then as it was very hot and we were running about frantically then. All the supporters were cheering for their schools and during the competition, our supporters were even singing our school song. During the judging round, the CIs amused us by asking us to smile while taking our photographs. One of the judges praised us for our hardwork in the precise angles and the straightness of the lined-up pegs. We were all elated and were beaming with joy. After the judging, we collected our ez-link cards and ran towards the exit to join our schoolmates and CIs. We were so confident and thought we could go into the finals but alas, we got in the 24th place. Our moods all changed and tears rolled down our cheeks. Though we didn't get into the finals, we were happy that we had put all our hardwork into this. After 4 months of training, the bonds that we share, the suffering and tears, and the laughter we all went through, it was all worth it in the end. All that we have been through together will be forever etched in our hearts and never to be forgotten.

During our first training till now it was quite difficult for us to build up a tent. I belong to the basha team which is the pegger, my team members and I worked very hard and our CIs guided us long way till now. We persevered throught many training under different kinds of weather.
I still remember first few months training had the most terrible attendance and each of our team members came and tell us they want to quit from campcraft team. Our CIs advised us and told us our attendance is the most important. To be a campcraft team, we need teamwork, communication and fast thinker. They always told us to take care of ourselves and trained till we know our basic knots and lashing.
I still remember in the first few training my pegger skill was super lousy. But as days go by, our skill improve but we never slow down on our training. We continue to train for 4 months to let our skill to became even better than before. Our boy team manage to complete everything during our competition and we hope we will manage to get into the top 10. I must thank the CIs as my team members for getting such a great improvement all the way till competition. We did suffered a lot but all of us had great memories in out hands.Girls team also did a very great job and we help one another if there is absentees.
For today, all of us were confidence in girls team, they did well, but Shereen ma'am told us the result, our heart broken ans everyone mood changes, our team fell through our heart. But our hardship did not go to waste, boy team get into 34th position and girl team get into 25th position, we cheer each another up and had our sharing session at Thomson Plaza.
We the NCOs were really sad and though we didn't cry but our heart really hurts. As I think about it, though we didin't manage to get into top 10, we really hope that 2010, our SGS campcraft team will fight back for the trophy, SGS campcraft team will never give up!

I took the ball of twines to measure while Siew Chin helped me to cut the twines. The twine was not enough so we were forced to use the penalty twine. I was impressed that the shelter and the flagpole were raised less than 5 minutes! We finished the building of flagpole, shelter and gadget in 10mins30secs, which meant that we have enough time to check mistakes. The time was up and we went to fall-in outside the boundary. We waited for judging time to end and we headed back to school with a feeling of satisfaction.
We went to have our lunch, whereby Shereen ma'am announced our results. Both teams didn't qualify into finals. It was difficult for me to accept the fact because I thought we were excellent! Everyone was very disappointed and they couldn't believe their ears. My dream of getting into finals could not be achieved. It was my last dream before I leave NPCC. I had waited for 2 years just to join the team and win the trophy but I didn't win it.
Whatever it is, we had done our best and we never regret anything we do. The trainings that we had made us even bonded than ever. We suffered together, laughed and cried together, and do things together. These things will never come back and I shall always treasure them. I am starting to miss campcraft training and the team.
4 months' effort for just a 12 minute competition is not that easy. So I hope that two years later, many of you will join to be a part of the team. All you need is to have a lot of perseverance.
I would like to congratulate all participants of the competition. You have all done your best!
Also, I would like to thank everyone that helped in the competition.

To my campcraft team, it is all over now. Don't look back but think of how to win back the trophy again in 2010 because you all still have another chance. I want to wish all of you the best in everything you do.

4 months ago, we started to train for our Campcraft competition. We've seen our own team-mates break down, injured or sick. For all this time, we gone through everything together eg. eat, rest and trainings. I as the captain in my team, should be responsible for everything they done. What they done, it might reflect on the team-captain.

4 months later, we entered Home Team Academy to have our Campcraft Competition 2008. All of us were anxious and for me, this was my 2nd time doing this competition. The first time was during 2006. My team-captain was Wee Chuan. But it was expected for me to be anxious too. Soon, we entered the pitch and ready for the battle. While waiting for the short blast to have a 1 minute check, I'm thinking what to do. After 1 minute check, all of us were even more anxious and waited for the long blast to start the competition. We were given 10 minutes to build a gadget, shelter and a flag pole. 'PIII!' The competition started and we do what we should. As for the flag pole, some problems with the rope appeared. I cannot pull the flag high up. I decided to ask them to untie so that i could adjust the rope and pull the flag. But again, I tried. It fail again. Not much time left, I asked them to bring down the flag pole and I immediately pull the flag up. Within 30 seconds, we managed to bring up the flag pole n tied. But the pole was not straight. It will affect the points and we used 3 extra twine and it cost 30 points. We do not have much mood to talk and to think. Soon, we left Home Team Academy with a sad look. 3 minutes later we realised that we did not get back or EZ-LINK card as we handed over to the C.I In-Charge. I'm very disappointed with myself. I cannot blame anyone in the team as the decision was made by me. We do not left with choices but only to wait for the result with miracles.

3 weeks later, which is today, the boys team results were out with the girls team. After we eaten as a whole of Campcraft Team 2008, Shereen ma'am announced the results. The results was not as good as what we think. All of our mood changed immediately. Some of us even cried as we were thinking back. Nadzirah and me as the captain of the team, we were much disappointed than the rest.
In my thinking, I did not lead the team well enough. As all this already shows that we did not get into top 10. The Sec4s in both team were thinking to get a last trophy before we step-down/pass-out. This might be our best thing we ever get through 4 years of NPCC life. But our dream will not appear anymore. We cannot manage get into the finals.

for those who are now Secondary 2/Secondary 3 Normal Academic, I really wish that you all may join Campcraft-Team 2010 and get into the finals. Listen instructions given from your captain and vice-captain in 2010. Remember, attendance is also important. I neither regret joining nor having you all as my team-mates and the title of CAMPCRAFT TEAM 2008.

The HRC (High Rope Course) was held on 11th March 2008, in the morning at NPCC campsite in Pulau Ubin. The Secondary 4s NCOs were eager to try out the high elements especially the "Flying Fox", which we were told that it is the best of all. Although we have just completed our camp, we still attended the course. We were accompanied by our OC (Officer-In-Charge), Mr Peh. Upon reaching the Changi jetty, we saw some other schools from Area 6, that had already arrived. All of us took a ride on the bumboat to reach our destination, the Pulau Ubin. It is going to be my last time going to that island together with my squadmates. So, to make this last event as memorable as possible, we rode on bicycle to our campsite. Cycling together was so much fun than ever! However, there were vehicles along the road which forced most of us to stop to allow them pass through. Unfortunately, on one occasion, I fell off my bicycle and hurt myself. In order to prevent from being the last few, I stood up quickly and continued cycling.
Finally, we reached the campsite and we settled down to join in the briefing. After the briefing, we procceeded to our first station, the tunnel. The girls tried the tunnel first while the boys went to the "Flying Fox". Well,about the tunnel, it was very dark inside and we have to find our way out. All of us managed to come out safely. Next, we tried climbing a pole, then we have to jump to grip the handle which was hanging in the air. This sounds easy but to do it, you need to have a lot of confidence and you have to be brave, of course.
At that moment, the weather was threatening and we had to stopped our activities. We headed for lunch and waited for the rain to stop. The girls wanted to try "Flying Fox" after lunch but the weather did not allow us to do so.
In the end, we did not try out. At about 3.15pm, we had to gather again for debrief and dismissal.
We went to Changi Village for our lunch again, where Mr Peh treated us Chicken Rice. Yummy!
Amidst the little disappointment, we still enjoyed the HRC in some ways or another.
